The first one (and the more relevant) talks about a cat and its shadow. Every year there's a shadow festival where a shadow splits from its person to participate. Noel's shadow wants to gather the shadows to an evil forest of the Satan of the trees, but gets foiled by the shadows and their persons dancing together and realizing they need each other.The cat's shadow looks like FRIEND, so FRIEND could be a shadow of a cat (maybe Seam). The Noel bad guy makes people remember the Knight, so people think this points to Dess's shadow (darkner) being the Knight.
