anthem destroyed bioware
>>730736206no, shitty devs destroyed bioware
>>730736206I feel like Mass Effect Andromeda was already the point of no return, but Anthem definitely was the nails in the coffin with Dragon Age Veilguard following up with the 6 feet of dirt.
>>730736206Actually, Mass Effect 2 did.
>>730736206The only thing I remember from this game was the E3 gameplay showcase with the most dumb "I think I'm at the spawn" "GOOD JOB!" talking possible
>>730737446This, being bought by EA killed Bioware instantly.
>>730736206Bioware has never made a good game. >B-b-but what abou-BG1/2KotoRJEDA:OME1/2/3All of it is overrated trash. All peoppe did was begin to notice.
>>730737446fpbp
>>730736206anthem got away pretty easily. Nobody cared that it came out. Concord was more fun.
>>730736206Based and well deserved.
>>730736206Good riddance
Fucking hilarious how they just kept it alive without any updates for an extra 4 years for no real reason, with npcs repeating the same "Just you wait, its just getting started!" dialog in the hub
>>730737264Andromeda wasn't Bioware proper, technically; it was a shitty new studio setup in Montreal that EA just bolted the Bioware name onto.
>>730736206Who even remembers anthem at this point, I'm focused on their failures with DA and ME
>>730737264>>730736992TheseAnthem was just one flop in a series of severalThe irony was passing off your flagship IP to some mobile game company so you could focus on anthem
>>730736206Anthem was the strangest IP to make into a modern audiences extraction shooter. The only thing the original had going for it was the decently interesting writing.
the funniest part about this game is the weapon and gear stats were completely superficial and a max level epic rifle with good bonus stat rolls was simply worse than the grey one you start the game with
>>730737987Last I heard (like two or so years ago at this point) the game's main hub area just never got updated to remove the christmas season decorations. Don't know if that ever changed, but I think it would be a great little encapsulation of the life of the game>>730738419The math was literally so fuxked on release that players with no gear and the basic starter pistol were tagged as being the absolute max power tier, higher than even a fully end game tiered player. Also, a lot of the bonus effects on weapons could just roll a 0 for whatever bonus they were supposed to have
>>730738284anthem was conceived as EA's response to destiny and the division. Thing is dev cycles are so long that the marked had changed when it finally arrived, it looking like the most generic stock asset flip imaginable didn't help garner interest either
>>730739078It had little to do with shifting markets to be honest. The game was just shit. The Division carved out a decent existence for itself, Warframe was consistently growing and Destiny was still doing really well in terms of active player numbers.
