Lads I beat the first game and want more but PVZ2 is free-to-play microtransaction garbage.I would like a version of PVZ that actually does require you to understand the mechanics and broken builds in order to clear content. The first game was lots of fun but way too easy.

Imagine how weird it must be to be a human in the PvZ universe. You could be a NEET just minding your own business, then the next day you are fending off zombies with genetically altered plants capable of lethal force. All the plants have faces, all of them are alive. Strange, even a bit offputting to be sure, but it's what happens after those initial days of invasion. Your plants all start coming out of the ground, walking and talking all the while. You think they are going to come after you for sending so many of their brethren to their doom, but they do the exact opposite. They all treat with gratitude for bringing them to life and act like you are their faux father. This is all nice and such, but as time goes on and the zombie problem gets worse, they all slowly but surely start coddling you. They first make sure you aren't near the frontlines of the war, it would be a terrible blow to them if they lost the brains of the operations. Then they get you off the battlefield entirely, insisting you could help them a lot more at homebase. It isn't too long before they take over the plan handling entirely, giving you more of a morale support role at homebase. Even then, they do your job just as well as you, each of them making sure to give you a hug or something like it before heading out to battle. You confess your feelings of uselessness to one of the veteran plants, and they assure you that you are the biggest part of the war, that you and your safety is what every plant fights for.

It doesn't nerf the pay to win plants but you've gotta earn them with challenge levels and to make up for it the later levels get balls difficult.Reflourished is a mod of the mobile game so you either need to use an Android emulator or play it on a phone. But you get a version of PvZ2 with balanced plants along with extra worlds and levels. The original content is pretty good.Also different poster but I personally recommend AltverZ. It's another mobile mod but it completely redesigns all levels and rebalances mechanics to be closer to PvZ1, 25 sun from sunflowers, levels always have 10 waves per flag and so on. Worlds are less bloated, 10 normal levels to unlock the next world, followed by 10 challenge levels that get pretty creative. It's the best PvZ2 mod in my opinion.If you don't like any of those there is the "DLC mod" for PvZ1 that adds two new worlds, 30+ minigame levels, a hard mode toggle that doesn't get too autistic, and a load of new plants, some original, some from PvZ2. It's very polished.
