>it's an anon can't handle tank controls episode
Wow, thanks for the advice!>doesn't press the "purchase" button on game store page
>>730742575it's free on gamepass
>>730742146>doom>tank controlswhat? anon do you know what tank controls are?
>>730742693A what pass? I've been playing games all my life and never needed a pass.
>>730742775DOOM 1 had tank controls before people cheated themselves by using mouse controls
This will never be wrongCope.
>>730742896This is wrong shit parroted by retardsTake a flip through the original doom manual sometime
>you control the buttons you press>devs present the players with the worst possible buttons
I found the RE games to be easier to control in tank control than camera based. And i'm a zoomer
>>730743204you try that re2 fixed camera mod?
>>730742896what? have you played doom? do you know what tank controls are?
>>730742896The manual tells you to play with kb+m controls. If you like Doom you should do a playthrough with default controls though
>>730743326Planning to when I replay RE2R, it looks very cool
>>730744216heard it was still a bit janky when it first released but its been a while now so i think the creator fixed many issues by now
>>730743204I never found tank controls to be as bad as anyone says and RE1 is slightly older than I am. I think those people just don't feel like learning it. I can sympathize because I just hate parrying mechanics.
I assume people that can't handle tank controls also can't deal with inverted Y axis for underwater gameplay
tank controls suck the control scheme was left behind for a reason
>>730742693>it's free on gamepass>It's free, just costs 20€ per month to get the pass which you pay for no service because everything you receive is free
>>730742896
>do the game design for us!
>>730742896if you can freely strafe then it's not tank controls
>>730746004I mean, have you ever played an action game where the damage is ramped up to where everything is a glass cannon? It's fun stuff.
>>730744405I can learn them and enjoy games like classic RE just fine. It's just there's zero reason to implement them over normal controls. It's just an objectively inferior control scheme.
>>730743104This will ever be wrongArrest.
>>730746651Fixed camera angles often give a better overview of a scene than first person or OTS, and the tank controls exist because they suit the fixed camera angles. That might be a reason why individual RE2R zombies are so dangerous compared to those in RE2 proper, because the idea of entering a room surrounded by 5-6 enemies and focusing your attention among all of them as well as where your character is going is much less reasonable with OTS. That kind of camera system isn't really the default choice for games designed around avoiding enemies.
>>730746004>its ok when Devil May Cry does itBy the way, the game makes it obvious the intended setup is Nightmare with 150% speed
>>730742896>fire weapon: Mouse 1
>>730748672>Mouse 1you're supposed to buy mice in pairs so they don't get lonely
>>730742896Arrow key movement is not tank controls, and you are a fucking moron. This entire goddamn site is just shitty bait anymore and social media reposts, I fucking hate you people.
I hate this slate of indie survival horror games that use RE-style fixed cameras but make the default control scheme perspective based rather than tank controls. So every time the camera flips perspective you have to rapidly change which way you're moving your character, even though this games are being played on stuff way stronger than a Gamecube. Either make tank control the default or just go with over-the-shoulder, shit.At least Signalis just did perpetually overhead except for some first person segments, which simplified the process.
>>730749001The indie SH scene is weird to me because there seem to be quite a few but everyone has a list of flaws for all of them, flaws which the classic RE games didn't suffer from, except for Signalis.
