>we have already forgotten 2018 technology
>>
><game> isn't as polished as <game with 100 times the budget>
woah

If the water reacts, I'm satisfied.
>>
>>730744475
So what you are effectively saying is that you need 400M to get water physics sort of right. I find that amusing.
>>
>>730744362
india wins again
>>
>>730744475
Is budget the only difference? If we just gave the Stalker 2 devs more money they would have done this? I'm not sure I believe that.
>>
>>730744615
>>730744727
budget + time = more unnecessary polish
>>
>>730744362
So your beloved rdr2 is slightly better than eurojunk on ue5?
>>
>>730744753
>E=MC2+AI
>>
>>730744362
Not fair
Please compare it to original trilogy
>>
>>730744362
from my understanding this is what happened
>take two makes its own engine
>job hires need to be paid and trained to learn the engine
>at the rate new hires come and go and or the cost it takes to train them they are abandoning their engine and following the EU5 herd
>>
>>730744615
No but seems like they didn't even have enough budget to polish the game and a actually devlop A life at lunch
All this shit is afterthought
>>
And yet Stalker is more mechanically interesting than Red Dead 2. And that's an objective fact.
>>
Custom engine vs. Unreal Engine
>>
>>730747123
That's my biggest gripe
All that detail and shit amount to nothing but set dressing.
It's like if you made new hitman games but they were played like cover shooters
>>
>>730747149
Dead Island 2 and other games showed you can do incredible stuff in UE5
But like anon said it's a matter of budget
Few animators and programmers vs an entire time just working on all the water physics
>>
>>730747358
Dead Island 2 runs on UE4, it also doesn't do anything particularly amazing.
>>
>>730747393
The gore system and overall physics is actually pretty good
And it runs well with 20 zombies on the screen at once.

>both comparisons showing both games having similar effects
>op mad because his trillion dollar game is more over the top with it than a game made with a fraction of its budget, in a country that gets airstrikes 24/7 and with half the people deployed to fight the war.
The fact stalker 2 released and it is getting updates and dlcs is a miracle when this people have to face the possibility of dying, either in their homes or fighting russians/Chinese. Meanwhile rockstar employees are crying about crunch hours.

You said some shit but I'm not going to argue because I find that Pepe of yours very funny

How about this 2008 technology?

Basically alien tech

It's sad how games made on a console with a dinky little 3-thread processor made on an architecture that's been dead for like a decade now have better physics than games made for consoles with powerful 16-thread processors on vastly newer architectures.

Its cool until you realize gta 4 has no persistence in its world. Push a cart down a hill it rolls into a ped. Cool. Walk a few meters away and turn back, the cart is back where it was.
Cars also follow the same shit they did in the 3d universe games where they despawn and spawn just by moving the camera around.
Also gta 4 is a shit game in general.

>Its cool until you realize gta 4 has no persistence in its world.
That also applies to most modern games, lest you forget about shit like Cyberpunk 2077 and its disappearing/constantly shifting cars.
Ironically, the exception is mostly other Rockstar games.

>>730749690
>Cyberpunk 2077 and its disappearing/constantly shifting cars.
I'm playing it right now and holy fuck it's annoying. Not just cars, but pedestrians. It's not "unworthy of the 2020s" or our technology these days, it's fucking awful. I was playing GTA 4 for the first time a few months ago and there's stuff in Cyberpunk right now, in the latest patch (2.3), that's worse than what I experienced.
>>
>>730744362
>2018
i'm pretty sure you could go back to GTA 4, or even HL2
>>
>>730749898
Yea, CP77 is such a mess, and I hate how people pretend that it's all fixed and great now and is totally underrated just because they want to fuck Rebecca from the anime.
>>
>>730750989
I hope they address some of that. The game is strikingly beautiful and they nailed the aesthetic
>>
>>730748172
rockstar probably employed NASA engineers and sterling physics profs for gta 4 and rdr2
>>
>>730748172
love this kinda rockstar autism

You're a retard, thanks for sharing.

Jeet confuses Indian repetitive slave work with actuual programming yet again.
