I think Clairen is the only character they've released in Workshop form, so it wouldn't be too difficult as long as you know how to animate. Marth has no special properties other than his tipper, and that's just a sweet spot hitbox with different properties than the sour ones.
That said, I don't know if the game has any counters. That and dancing blade are his only unique moves.

I'm expecting most Smash Bros mods to just be ported over. If someone can avoid the copyright lawyers in full, probably even the entirety of their rosters. Actually original characters not imported from anything, will be very few and far between.

I'm more interested in how modders could adapt the existing Smash roster to use the new Rivals 2 mechanics.

The difference is that platform fighters have an existing modding community experienced with 3D modeling and animation. At least a few P+ / HDR / Remix modders are going to at least give RoA2 Workshop a look, considering the game will likely become the most appealing platform for platform fighter modding.

My concern is that original characters are going to get buried under all the ports. Some of my favorite characters from RoA1 Workshop were original, even if they weren't all balanced.

I also expect a lot of really tasteless furry designs.
