I hated Fallout 4 when it came out. I finally gave it another chance last year, heavily modded, and it's okay. The story, world, quests, basically everything about the game that isn't the gameplay, are pretty ass. As a Fallout game, it's complete shit. But yeah with mods, the looter shooter open world gameplay is fun for a while. I don't see myself replaying it for a long time, unlike how I'll regularly replay 1/2/NV, and it's a horrible direction for the series, but it's fine on its own. Unfortunately, it was also a clear indication, later reinforced by Starfield, of what's to come with Bethesda games.

FO4 made me realize how much I want a post apocalyptic squad based shooter with waifu sim aspects and maybe some base building cause that's literally the only enjoyment I got out of the game.
