But you look at the whole of vanilla GTAV upfront and it's pretty fucking bland with some really weak lighting and literal box model houses, while characters look like blow up dolls. Some of it's being leftovers of a 360/PS3 era title, but it highlights that even Rockstar open world games aren't some weird tour de force that people pretend they are. RDR2 looked better, but "looks better" mostly counts for cinematics and spanning vistas, not up close.
