I liked it.Never read the manga, but I've watched the 90's anime and the 3 CGI movies (not the god awful CGI show), but they both only cover the Golden Age Arc, so it was nice to see some stuff that happens after and meet some of the other characters like Serpico and Schierke and Rape HorseI wish it had more characters and it's not the best musou, but I had a lot of fun.

It's got a really unique dodge/parry system that makes it stand out a bit from the classic spam-to-win musou feel. And Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 are straight-up RPG/musou hybrids with charming aesthetics and full voice acting-definitely worth it if you like DQ or just want a break from historical Chinese warfare. They even have item crafting and actual towns lol.

It plays just fine even today and iirc you can change combat speed settings so it's not so slow.
