only midnight release i did was by accident for the Wii, went to a Walmart and noticed there was still one spot open for a guaranteed system so i hopped in line with my highschool friend. waited a few hours and bought one only for there to be a massive shortage shortly after and it was difficult to find one for the following year or two.it was a nice novelty but the constant gimmick games got old after a year or so but i had plenty of fun while it lasted.these kind of things were always an event, i recall one of the more in the front of the line were playing portable game consoles, forgot which but might have been a PSP and turns out you can order Dominoes Pizza to the inside of a wal-mart as that is what they did.
