I was born in 1988.
So yes, I "remember" when it was "around". It was literally the very first console I bought with my own money, as a young adult.

Good ol' 60GB "Fat" model, with the backwards compatibility with PS2 games. I still have it, and it still works.

My fat PS3 died and took my PS2 saves with it. I was playing Persona 4 at the time.

Looking back on it, I think the nogaems machine actually had more games than the wii.
