If eXistenZ (or transCendenZ) was a game in real life, would you play it? Do you think it would be a popular game?
>>730774683>transCendenZnever heard of this
fuck no, it's like a never-ending nightmareCronenberg is an interesting director, been watching his stuff recently. The Fly is average if not bad, Crash and A History of Violence were both enjoyable with the latter being particularly good, eXistenZ was interesting but hard to follow at times he reminds me of Kojima at times; sparks of genius mixed in with some of the most obvious and retarded writing out there
>>730774683>Here's your controller bro
>>730774874It's the game eXistenZ is taking place in.
I am just going to say that if it turns out this life is some video game simulation that I voluntarily entered into, I will never forgive myself.>>730774920I just rewatched it, and I liked it for sure, but I could see why people would be put off. It is almost Brechtian. The twists and turns near the end are so complete (and intentional) nonsense, it fails as an immersive piece. I do think it is meant to inspire a terror of sorts.
>>730774683I don't remember much about this movie. I think the guy fucked her game hole?
>>730774985The future is here unc
>>730774683I haven't watched much Cronenberg cause body horror grosses me the fuck out. Is there a way to get over this and not feeling like vomiting whenever I watch one of his films or should I just give up?
>>730778092Crash and A History of Violence are both watchable, not much gore or focus on body horror in either. I assume not all of his films are body horror stuff
>>730778092Exposure therapy theory says you'll get over it if you just man up and watch it.
jeff vogel says existenz was one of his inspirations for geneforge
>>730778092eXistenZ wasn't too bad for me, but I am kinda worried to try Videodrome.
>>730778092just man up and put on videodrome
>>730774683I don't care what anyone says, eXistenZ is a kino movie and I'm tired of pretending it isn't
i thought the scene where the guy eats the disgusting deformed fish and makes a gun out of the leftovers was the best scene in the movie. what other cronenberg kinos would i enjoy?
>>730781559I agree, it is definitely overlooked.
>>730774920his undisputed masterpiece is videodrome anyways
>>730781568I feel like that solitary scene inspired the SCORN developers to make that entire game
>>730774683Not if the whole game takes place in a filthy Chinese restaurant
