I had okay fun with it for a few weeks, but that's around how much time you need to really figure out and notice how limited the game really is. Progression and gearing is basically worthless and they could have just made the game so you never need to level up since leveling up doesn't actually change anything about what your character can do.
I do not care for wuxia.
What the fuck is the point of the online mode if you can't progress the story in it? Just seems like a singleplayer game where you can show off your avatar online or something stupid.

I played that game and it was way too chinese for me. Like why does EVERYTHING have to be so aggressively chinese folklore. I know this is part of the wuxia faggotry but yeah it was too much for me.

Story is the cookie cutter wuxia cliches, gameplay is nothing to write home about, multiplayer is either GTA online minigame, pvp with horrible lag despite having a 10gb optic fiber connection and trying some other servers with proton vpn in case I had bad routing, or some uninteresting bosses. I quit after a month so maybe they fixed it since then but the game has one of the most tedious UI/UX design I've ever had the displeasure to deal with, tons of menus that are a slog to sift through, it also lacked polish with some texture bugs, AI voices which were often bugged (the npc will only say 50% of the lines), no 4k textures at launch, etc etc...Wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle fits perfectly for this game.

It doesn't even have a proper proximity voice chat so it's objectively worse. GTA online actually lets you socialize, roleplay and host servers based on different types of gameplay. People actually DO gta online roleplaying, no one does that in WWM and there's zero potential for any of it. I don't even play that shit but I don't have to to know that WWM doesn't even try to come close in that department despite how much jewtubers shilled the social features for that game. It's a massively half-assed game, all of the effort goes into the bosses they dripfeed twice a month and the whale cosmetics. I genuinely wanted to like the game and was super excited to play it, but the way the devs handled so much of the game is straight up piss poor. I honestly think a lot of the "advertisement" based on this game before its released was purely from career youtube losers wanting to farm clicks and views before anyone else did. The importance for a lot of the features was enormously overblown to a degree I haven't seen in a long time.

This is unironically the "Room" of videogames. It's so laughably badly designed and trashy that it's kinda good.The game throws you about a hundred systems and minigames and menus within a few hours, most NPCs are literal AI chatboxes, enemies are giga-sponges regardless of difficulty, writing is worse than janky Chinese gacha trash.
