like i just want to play around with armies, why do i have to understand all this stuff about units and building and resources
Use AI
>>730780384There is several where you don't and then stuff like total war but all of them are inferior to aoe2
>>730780384Actual military strategy involves things like controlling areas with natural resources, manufacturing weapons, maintaining a food supply, and training new troops. It sounds like you're more interested in tactics than strategy. Consider looking into the Total War series, for starters.
they need to buff handcannoneers
>>730780384You are retarded
>>730780384That is the strategy part of the game, anon.
Vast majority of RTS games are very casual friendly
>>730780384I finally completed the Joan of Arc single player campaign in AoE2 over xmas. Only took 27 years. The final mission was really hard, countless saving and loading.Rejoice.
Wololoooo
>>730780384Just play an RTT then OP.
Company of HeroesDawn of War
>>730780384>i just want to play around with armieshave you considered C&C or BFME2?there's only one resource so the eco is completely brainless with the focus entirely on military control
>why are platforming games so complicated? I just want to jump around but they have lives and powerups and shit>why are shooting games so complicated? I just want to shoot a gun but there's ammo and many weapons and enemies that kill you and shit>why is Diablo so complicated? I just want to kill monsters but there's stats and menus and items and shitHow low IQ are you?
>>730780384Theres a reason the genre died bro
>>730780384If you want to focus on armies and not resources, then you should try Praetorians
>>730780384>the gacha generationbrutal
>>730780384aoe2 specifically is not complicated at all thoughbeit
>>730784335When I learned there was a dedicated keybind for all of each production building I shit myself. Makes life so much easier it's unreal.
>>730780384sounds like you would really like Mechabellum
>>730784335Most RTS aren't complicated on a fundamental level, getting good at them is being able to spin multiple plates at once. If you understand the basics of "build works to collect resources, spend resources to make factories to build units, send units out to destroy enemy, win" then you're already doing better than most people who play RTS games.
Get some pickaxe niggas and send them to chop treesBuild some stuffGet some sword niggas and send them to the enemy base>muh buildorders and keybindsYou're playing it wrong
>>730785924>Get some pickaxe niggas and send them to chop trees>pickaxe>to chop trees
>>730785545Yeah OP should give it a try but damn they need more single player content and options.
>>730780384you're in the wrong genre, battlesims are down the chart with total war
>>730785985They're crafty niggas, they'll manage
>>730786246>Okie dokie!
>>730785985Wait until you hear they build structures with those pick axes as well.
>>730780384play Total War
>>730780384obligatory
>>730785602okay but my villager is fucking idle
>>730786659send him to scout then
We need a MMORTS
>>730786851
>>730786936That's just unreasonable, anon.
>>730786383Total War also has economy and shit. OP seems to be interested in wargames.
>>730780384>t. King Phyrrus
>>730786851Clash of Clans loleBut seriously, I don't think it's gonna work. MMO world implies that it's active all the time, and if in MMORPGs your character just despawns, this will be a little awkward. Assuming your base remains here if you log out, you will need a careful balance in economy and defense to ensure you don't always wake up to see everything destroyed. In theory I guess it can work if done properly, but still it feels like inventing a spork.
>>730787038you can set all that shit to auto and just turn the campaign difficulty to easyalternatively, total war has skirmish options
>>730786659build a house or a farm>>730782574I played for like 100 hours in december and I still got lots of the campaigns unfinished. Some of them are brutal.
>>730786462True. I wonder if there are still any RTSs that invoke the same feeling of wonder and excitement as when I was a kid and first played Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, Warcraft 3, AOE2 and wanted to find all the secrets, all the factions/civs, all the cool maps and missions and so on.They just don't make 'em like they used to.
>>730780548>isnever should of come here
>>730780384If RTS is too hard for you, then Fallout series might be more up your speed, it's made for 1 INT people. After you're done, play Elden Ring. Now you're a true gaymer.
All these years later and it's still the GOAT
>>730787302Closest that I've had in a while is BAR that someone already suggested and Tempest Rising. Which is what I'd imagine a semi-modern CnC game would play like if EA weren't lame and gay and using the IP for mobile games. Maybe the Scouring? That's still very much an early access game and doesn't feel close to being done yet, but it does have a solid foundation.
>>730787397It's non-canon trash now
>>730782229You just suck at using them if thats your take>>730782574Yeah its a patience mission, I build to defend against one while dealing with the other and wittled the enemies down to a 1v12.5 hour long fight iirc
>>730787302The last RTS game I played that felt like it was made by competent old school devs was deserts of kharak. Then they fucked it with homeworld 3, that game flopping convinced me the genre is dead and it's never coming back.
>complicated>had only 3 viable strategies: rush boom turtle >the entire outcome depends on whether you pick the counter of what your opponent picked like a game of rock paper scissors
>>730787296>you can set all that shit to auto and just turn the campaign difficulty to easy
>>730787798>It's not easy, being green.
>>730782574Why were the campaigns so fucking hard early on? I remember having a demo for one of the expansions (?) as a kid where you played as Aztecs and the difficulty was just right. Then I got the main game and got completely raped by the Joan campaign
>>730786462would be cool if someone broke the formula for coop RTS against an overwhelming PvE experienceI'd play it at least coop RA3 was always one of my favorite things they introduced to the game, even if i feel it was too geared towards e-sport nonsense.
>>730780384Go play a moba, you imbecile. Though to be fair, you are less of a problem to the genre than autistic "muh meta" nigs
>>730788712If you followed the instructions given by the narration and quest log, it'd not be so hard. But if you were a kid and ESL I can understand why especially Joan of Arc was a tough campaign; it has a lot of keep-hero-units-alive and making you run around without a base or doing little time attack bits
>>730787246The only way I could envision it working is a helldivers style overworld map and doing RTS missions on it somehow influences it - territory changing hands between factions and shit like thatBut I think the new Warhammer Total War is going to do something similar
>>730786851>>730787246We need a MMOBA, or rather ASSFAGGOMO (Aeon of Strife Styled Fortress Assault Game Going On Massively Online).
>>730780384You need to be white or asian (yellow) to play those games, sorry OP
You could look into Real Time Tactics games like Men of War (picrel is Faces of War). Otherwise there's games like Blitzkrieg. No base building, just positioning units and stuff.
>>730786851the one thing we need in this industry is less always online trash
>>730780384Why do amerimutts have such low IQ?
>>730795064This was posted during euro hours doe
>>730795164No it wasn't, muttland time difference is either 7 or 9 hours, which means it was midnight in fatsoland when this thread was posted you stupid retard, you're just as low IQ as OP
