I went to the store looking for a new sd card, but the clerk could only tell me about "gb" like what's that, great britain?
I asked him how many blocks the cards had and he just looked confused
>>
You look like a gay boy. So he was telling you about how many GB units you need to fill out your gay boy look.
>>
Legitimately why did nintendo do this block bullshit for so long?
>>
Nintendo invented digital storage

I think they thought there was a need to obfuscate the actual digital filesizes with more retard friendly terminology for gamers. Sony did it on the PS1 and Microsoft did it on the original Xbox too. Only difference is Sony and Microsoft immediately realized that it's completely unnecessary. Sadly Nintendo was always 10 years behind on technology.

Good one

There's probably at least one kid who had this experience unironically

Did you know? On the GameCube 1 block is 8 KB but on Wii/DSi/3DS it's 128 KB.

I never got a ps1, but I got a ps2. Back then, there was this massive shortage on memory cards, and when I finally got one, several people kept asking me how many "slots" it had. I was like "wtf, it's 8mb, what are you talking about" but they refused to believe it operated on some non-slot system.
