The great debate
>>730782891FF7 is the only one that still plays well by todays standards
>>730782918>todays standardsWho gives a fuck?
>>730782891FF7 objectively, but I have a special spot for Shenmue in spite of how slow it is. OOT is overrated. None are really comparable though.
I liked all 3 of them quite a bit but I would have to rank them as OOT > FF7 > ShenmueAll 3 of them are great though. I actually think Shenmue 1 is a much better game than Shenmue 2. 2 felt too bloated.
>>730782891I played only shenmue and oot, and oot isn't that great after the first half
>>730782965Man, going back and playing 2 in the remaster, you're not wrong. I remember as a kid enjoying it more, but 2 really doesn't take off until very end in Kowloon.
>>730782918So great Square completely abandoned the style in later sequels and the remakes.
>>730782918I don't even know how to deal with an opinion this bizarre. The actual ATB combat and focus on pure grinding, along how simple the interactions with the pre-rendered environments are make its gameplay easily the weakest here. Zelda is so much more advanced and 'plays well' on a much superior level.
Shenmue is not on the same level as those other two games
Pics like this should include Metal Gear Solid as well. Probably Resident Evil 2 as well.
>>730782891The only thing to debate is why anyone would ever put Shenmue there.
>>730782918This isn't true, but the only reason you could think this is because the JRPG hasn't really evolved as a genre in all this time, so FF7's simplicity is refreshing to go back to.
