They renamed Normal and Hard from the JP version to Easy and Normal for the NA version. There is a massive HP jump from easy to normal which makes the game a slog. I didn't know about this until I beat the game and looked it up.

These and having the game have no ties to the original Alundra, from the characters to the world to the underlying themes. I know that the original developers of Land Stalker, LadyStalker (lmao), Dark Savior and that Time Stalkers, but they kept the core gameplay in each of those and also explained it away with multiverse bullshit in TS.

With the Alundra games, the change is so stark and sudden, it makes the 2nd game actively worse having played the 1st one.
