Due to trading the Wall command with Rapid Advance and their higher general stats, I find that Yari Samurai can still have a niche. Cav on cav fights are generally risky as most of the time both parties have weapon effectiveness against each other. So having a fast spear infantry unit to intercept flanking cav is generally useful to have. Its not a mainline wall like YarAsh or Naginatas, they’re a rapid response unit.

Mostly because of the economics. And because the AI is set to make you always at war so from season 1 you need to be pumping out ashigaru.One day Creative Assembly will bother to balance their games. Until then it will either be tier 0 unit spam or ranged unit spam to win every encounter. Melee being so useless in Warhammer was so obnoxious.
for me it's the ogre maneaters outperforming every other ogre infantry because of their animations
