Why haven't you started working on your dream game yet, anon? Nobody else is going to make it for you.
>>730791357>Nobody else is going to make it for you. They did, actually. They made it, and I played it my entire life. How elaborate is your dream game that it doesn't exist?
>>730791357I'm busy workingwhy waste years making some shit ass game from scratch?
>>730791570Assfaggots is your "dream game"? Grim.
nobody makes music to listen to later or writes books to read them in their free time and relaxThat's not how it works
just gonna proompt it in a grok holodeck in a few years.
>>730791758Yes, that is my dream game. I hope you NPC Niggers dreamed of spending your entire lives on 4chan, because it's what you all seem to do. 90% of the people on this board are posting in threads I can't even enter, because their opinions don't matter, and I don't even read them in passing. Enter every thread on this board and see if you meet me. I won't be there. It'll be unthinking NPC Niggers the whole way down.
>>730791896Have a look. I am in none of them. It's a shame none of you have self-awareness, but it also doesn't matter to me. Every thread you enter or will enter is filtered, and so there's nothing more grim than you two digit IQ slave nigger fucks.
>>730791896>>730792018meds
I'm too dumb and lazy to make it
>>730791357Because making my dream game takes years' worth of work, work that does not provide money to spend on mortgage, food, or electricity, until it is done, and even then there is no guaranteed financial return. Not everyone can afford to Van Gogh shit like this.
>>730791357Im learning Blender
>>730792781Nice! How's your progress? Are you making anything for any games yet, or just practicing?
>>730791357I don't know how.
>>730791357>Why haven't you started working on your dream game yet, anon?i do not work in gamedevi dont have time or interest to learn game developementi do not intent to work in game developementmy dream game would require a big studio, lots of funding and lots of talent, as well as me having total creative control. None of that is happening
>>730791357I started and then I got cancer next month so had to put it on hold. I will start again when I can
>>730793296damn, your game was that bad, huh
>>730793296In case you aren't bullshitting: get well, hope you'll get your health back in shape. Cancer sucks.
>>730791357I actually don't have a dream game.I have a few game ideas, I have one I'm currently making but I don't have a dream game. Always found it weird when people mention it, especially when they hyperfocus on making their dream game as their first game.
I did start, did some things, but friction was so big that I've started procrastinating into useless things I don't really need. What I've done:Half of the character models, with placeholder animationsA few locations that are mostly done70% Functional, but not fun gameplay.Ugly ass placeholder UI that I can't figure outI'm mostly scared of finishing the remaining characters and animating them.
>>730791357>family member is full time house bound NEET since 16, is 30 now>has in no way developed any computer or home based skill what-so-ever.How does this happen?
>>730791357In addition to learning gamedev, I also have to learn creative writing since I want my game to be singleplayer and narrative focused.
>>730793684Oh hey, that's literally me.>how does that happenyou blink and suddenly you're 30, that's it
>>730791357Have you ever read a book you wrote and enjoyed it? Or watched an animation you made and liked it? Or fapped to your own porn? It's not enjoyable, and video games are no different.
>>730793771Yeah fair
>>730793684That was literally me from 18-26. I regret not learning game dev before becoming a wageslave.
to much of a brainlet to write/make a good game>>730793684that's pretty much me, again its cause I'm a useless fucking moron
>>730793893I do enjoy the music I occasionally make though
>>730791896>>730792018pathetic
I am working on the first one, though it's a daz goblin weg.
I would but I don't really have any one specific idea of a dream game.
>>730793671That sounds like you've done one hell of a job already. What kind of a game is it?
>>730793930I started waging at 26 as well. I had a lot of fun as a teen but I do wish I picked up an artistic hobby to learn when my brain was still soft and free of alcohol.
>>730794086I am thankfully not an alcoholic (yet). But I'm 33 now, barely making ends meet. I could've had a really cool game on the market by now, or at least had the skills and abilities to make one. It's amazing how easy it is to waste away your youth.
>>730794067A party game with minigames, always liked those but the ones available on market have critical flaws (for my subjective taste).I know the concept is simple, thus is why I'm stressed out about presentation so much, simple games should look good, right?
>>730791357I did start but trying to make game-ready 3D models (even low-poly-ish) hard filtered me and made me burn outI'm trying again this year but progress is minimal due because I keep spinning my wheels and getting distracted by scrolling and playing video gamesI want to change myself, but apparently I don't want it hard enough
>>730794278Playing good is priority #1. Make sure the game is FUN. You can worry about the aesthetics later. One of the reasons why modern Mario Party is so shit (in my opinion) is because games take FOREVER now. So many animations and cutscenes throughout every single turn. The first three games are quick, snappy, and to the point while also still looking good. Even the game devs know the games are a slog because you can't make games last 50 turns anymore.
>>730794743>One of the reasons why modern Mario Party is so shit (in my opinion) is because games take FOREVER now.Oh yeah I've encountered this pretty early on when trying to understand how long should each element last, it is a puzzle to solve how to make the game end quickly without every game feeling the same.
>>730794552>I keep spinning my wheels and getting distracted by scrolling and playing video games4chan is truly the biggest evil in the world
/wiki/Assassination_market I'm surprised that with the advent of blockchain and Polimarket that that ain't a thing yet
