This game's map actually filters me so hard. I'll spend 30+ minutes looking for the correct path even though I've already replayed the entire game like 5 times. I've never complained about yellow paint because I'm fully aware of what happens when you don't have it. I still have nightmares of a particular level where you have to climb some boxes with no indication they are climbable whatsoever.

Correct but not every path is signaled by green lights. These boxes I am talking about aren't. The map has hundreds of boxes but somehow you are supposed to know THESE TWO IN PARTICULAR are climbable.

I started this shitty game yesterday. I already had at least 5 cutscenes forced upon me in the first hour of the game.

nuDOOM is a prime example of "muh cinematic" hack and slash shit, with constant pauses, slow as fuck gameplay, QTEs, climbing, RPG-lite shit, and all the combat taking place in small as fuck lock-down rooms, where you always fight just a handful of foes.

It's an insult towards DOOM in every conceivable manner. It's literally a Piss4 God Of War in a disguise, made for console homos that have never ever played a single 1990s' ego-shooter.

also the level design in nu-doom is very by committee and lacks creativity
old school rts games would often go wild with level design so you'd have fun areas to go around and explore that felt alive
but then the likes of gaylo came along and introduced a minimalist style where levels were just a series of carefully crafted combat arenas joined by corridors and almost every fps since then has suffered by trying to copy that style, nu-doom included
