It was basically the PS2 era continued into the 7th gen but with expanded capacity. Shame they were all overshadowed by the casualware slop and bing-bing wahoos.

Wish there was more "PS2 games but made for current hardware with less limitations" type of games. Insane to me Okami is a PS2 game but still feel better than most current games to the point it could get ported as is to the Wii and Steam and still be praised. Katamari and Nocturne are also on Steam. As much as I love good games having ports to current virtually ageless hardware I still want new games but without the hard requirement of needing to be 10+GB, live service and with a shit ton of dlcs that cost just as much as the game itself PLUS special editions and their exclusive shit. I want a game built from the ground up to be a game first and a money printer 2nd at worst.
