Worked on your game today?

I'm messing with mine and this common problem of the camera pushing through the mesh has really got me twisted. It ruins the intended game loop because it reveals way too much. I haven't had any success putting a bubble around the camera to prevent this. Any ideas advice? Got something you're stuck on? I dunno I'm bored.

Your game looks like shit.
Give up now instead of wasting years of your life on objective trash.

You exist, thanks for the bump.

based anon making things for the fun of making them.
I'm not sure what I'm looking at in your pic, but have you tried following this newbie guide?

I'll check it out thanks, might have my fix in there, they at least mention the problem, so it's more than I started with thanks. The image is pretty confusing yeah, but I think you got it. The little sprite is my character(behind the back view of a beetle), the camera is in a 3rd person position, I have a spring arm on it and the rotation of the spring has broken through the tunnel I dugg straight downward. The two vertical lines on each side of the sprite kind of show you the shape of the tunnel, I was trying to demonstrate how I don't want to let the camera do that, but I think your guide might lead me in to a fix:)

I've only done a little bit of fiddling in Godot last year (only 2D) so just quickly searched the docs. Maybe it'll help, idk.

I feel it, looks like you're making progress. I just tried out that program yesterday from a friend's recommendation, seems nice, I just have a brute force way of approaching things making this process niceeeeee and slowwwwwww. What kind of game you looking to create? I made a map of some assets I'm in need of still, structure is not my strong point, but really once I nail a couple of things I'm stuck on it's going to be smooth sailing I think xD

haha yeah I'm more of the Hulk Smash type, I've probably created a few more issues turning all the knobs, but this'll definitely be a boon for me.

The basic idea is satisfactory but 55% combat and 45% factory building.
I made a bunch of quick progress early on but now that I actually want to make stuff I'm realising just how much I still don't know.

that sounds like a tough one to get right, at least to me, I've started a few RPGs and I get so burnt out on trying to perfect the math of the battle system/economy. Not really the same, but that sounds like a tall order to me. Power to you, press forward, make the thought real.

well, nobody is making what I want so I don't really have a choice
