Chapter 1 in Ninja Gaiden is widely considered to be the hardest chapter in the game, however, it’s even harder on very hard difficulty than on master ninja, because of these fuckers. Even outside of chapter 1 these ninjas are much more dangerous than the red ones due to their ranged weapon – the windmill shuriken. Incendiary shuriken is whatever, getting tagged by one doesn’t deal any immediate damage and you can simply get it off in several different ways, like doing jump of the wall attack, rolling or wind path. But purple ninja’s windmill shuriken deals damage the moment it touches Ryu, it travels back and forth, and they can throw it at Ryu, while he’s in the air, which is something red ninjas can’t do with their incendiaries. Their lower health means nothing, because when you catch an enemy off guard, you are going to kill them regardless, but their greater offensive capabilities make them much more of a threat.

>>730815927>lower health the Vigorian Ninjas' health is much higher than the Black Spider's and Red Ninjas'. Also their grab deals the most damage. The Ninjas on VH and MN are brutal but all of their strings of attacks are extremely punishable and they are not "armored" so you can stun them with shurikens even in the air.On Master Ninja dealing with these guys in the first chapter's small rooms with your limited movesets is an absolute nightmare, this is why you get Lunar and Nuchakus from the start. (At least in Black, in Sigma you only get the Dragon Sword). You can make Chapter 1 easier if you kill the respawning crow at the beginning of the Ninja Fortress with your shurikens before entering the first two rooms. It always drops a blue essence so you can on-land Lunar UT, instantly killing all the Ninjas and then start chaining UTs with their essence.
