I will say that taking care of animals is not a bad thing at all. God did create Adam, and by extent humans in general, specifically to take care of the Earth, including all the animals, so how she treats her cat isn't a bad thing in and of itself, pets can be apart of families and good companions to have, it's that combined with using the cat as a replacement for humans that she talks about how terrible they are is pretty problematic.
