>a town built around a nuclear bombHow do you make this concept work and make sense in Fallout? >inb4 jeetout 3 fans say Megaton was done perfectly in game (it wasn't)
>>730822028What's the problem?
>>730822028It's cool. Simple as.
>>730822028the water was deeper before, they built the town around it, found the bomb later. maybe make everybody think it's already disarmed, but secretly isn't
>>730822141>The giant nuclear bomb that as shown in the TV series can be easily set off>The radiation leakage>The lack of farm land>The raiders camped out next door>The super mutants a quick jog away
It'd have to be a Children of Atom location you build up as extremely dangerous and strange and only visit later on when you've dealt with the normal wasteland a bit and learned about the CoA. Far Harbor did this more or less correctly.
>>730822687It technically is a Children of Atom location as they were the ones who heavily invested in building it.
>>730822028The excuse they gave is that the people wanted to remove the nuke but they couldn't because the church of atom wanted to keep it and they needed the church to help them build the town so their hands were tied and they had no choice but to give atom's followers what they wanted. Is this a good excuse? That depends on who you ask, i personally find it interesting enough yet dumb enough but all in all i am pretty apathetic to it.
>>730822028It's unique and retarded the perfect falloutcore
>>730823158They could've just said "Most people would move out if they could, but between the raiders and whatever mutated scum is out there, most people take their chances with the bomb".>>730823168It's Bethesda falloutcore.
>>730823360I feel like that explanation has the opposite problem of not giving enough information.
>>730822687Yeah but the Children of Atom are retarded.
>>730822687Far Harbor also alluded at the children of atom really being "blessed" and not completely out of their minds, since most of them really are more or less immune to radiation. There's even a quest where they ask you to convince a guy who's killing himself over atom worship to stop.
