Game is stale and boring if you have played fromsoft games. If I didn't know or play their games before and played this, I wouldn't call this as a best game ever. It is fun for its genre but lack the calm and relaxing of games that I would play it over and over again

The omens were explained in the base game but you can't get the full scope until you play the dlc and talk to someone there. Similarly, DS2 only references its DLC through Aldia, who was added at the same time. And DS3 doesn't really reference its DLC at all, it's a self-contained story that compliments the base game. The Old Hunters is the only DLC that's truly integrated with the base game, because it's so integral to its story.The Souls DLCs have always been side stories.

The omen exist because the hornsent cursed marika. Nothing in the dlc changed the base game (in relation to these topics), it only added context to things. You can make a valid argument that the context cheapens the characters, I don't think it does but if you do thats a fine stance to take. I agree the dlcs always feel like side stories, it works in elden ring because it was designed to be something hidden and erased from history canonically.
