I just bought an OLED TV. What are the best games to play to showcase it?
>>730828275Enjoy your burn in.
>>730828334That's lcd
>OLED AIWhat does the TV AI do?
>>730828275Ask AI to generate the best games for you
>>730828275control
>>730828275Runescape
>>730828563Optimized pixel clean with your dilation cycle
>>730828563Watches the TV for you, so you don't have to.
>>730828275Lg Is dogshitI sent the lg oled tv and oled monitor backutter trash products
>>730828275RE4. Anything with a sunset or sunrise looks a million times better in HDR
>>730828563They put "AI" in everything now, even if it does nothing different then the non "AI" product. You could probably buy an AI refrigerator that uses deep learning to set the temperature.
>>730828563Photographs you then sells your likeness to Adobe
>>730828275Some game that primarily uses fullscreen starfields in a pitch black room because that's really the only time you'll ever notice a difference between OLED and MiniLED (until you want to play a bright HDR game then the OLED gets dim as fuck)
>>730831735aaaaaaaand cue the butthurt miniLED shill
>>730828275try playing a sub-60 FPS console game then return it due to unbearable flickering. Good luck playing Bloodborne on it
>>730832002Flickering is only an issue if your framerate varies wildly on which case you have bigger problems
>>730831978>Unable to directly address any of my statements and goes straight for the personal attackLike clockwork
>AI TVAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
enjoy you're burn in dumbass
>>730831060This would actually be a good feature for blind people.
>>730828275I'll do you better anon cause I'm in a good mood. I'll provide you resources to optimize gaymin in HDR.1) Lookup your display on RTINGS or TFTCentral to determine which HDR Picture mode has the highest color accuracy and set it, then find a list of which settings you need to enable/disable from said people.2) Go into Settings > Display Settings > Select your new OLED > Toggle HDR > Click on HDR > Disable Auto HDR (not good if you are nvidia) > Go back to the last page > Scroll to the bottom and select "Advanced Display" > Confirm the Peak Brightness is correct > Confirm the Bit depth is correct (10bit, 12bit or 14bit if you have a baller display) > Confirm you're in the right color format (RGB)3) If not let's fix that. If you're on Nvidia go to your "NVIDIA Control Panel" and NOT the App > Change Resolution > Select your OLED display > At the bottom under #3 click "Use Nfvidia color settings" and select Color Depth: Highest > Select Output color depth: "10 bpc (or higher if your display supports it) > Select Output color format: RGB > Selecct Output dynamice range: Full > Apply4) While still in the app go to Adjust video color settings > Select your OLED > Select "With the NVIDIA settings" > Advanced > Dynamic Range: Full > Apply > Now go to Adjust video image settings and enable Super Resolution level 4 and High Dynamic Range > Apply1/2
>>730834284>>7308282752/25) Now go to the Nvidia App > Graphics > Global Settings > RTX HDR: On. Now refer to pic related to set your RTX HDR filter from the Nvidia overlay for all non-native HDR games. You want Brightness to be the peak 2% brightness value from RTINGS/TFTCentral and set your contrast to +25, Saturation to -25, and mid-grey to whatever the table says based on peak brightness for accurate color space upscaling (it is an incredible feature).6) If your Peak Brightness is wrong (or even if it isn't) launch the "Windows HDR Calibration" app and run through the settings. Complete and apply it7) If you still can't get your peak brightness set you can use "MaxTml" from Github to force it. The brightness rating from windows referenced on #2 above is critical as all games and RTX HDR references this value for ALL HDR rendering in game. If it isn't accurate you're going to have a bad time. MaxTml is a command line utility to force it. You have to taskkill the nvidia app and exit any settings windows before setting it. Command example for setting: set_maxtml.exe 1 1000 (display 1 to 1000 nits)8) In game settings... I normally never shill jewtoob channels but unironically until you get a feel for how HDR should look check this channel for in-game configuration of HDR as most games are not standardized: https://www.youtube.com/@GamingTech-YouTubeGame recommendations: Ori (both), Doomy Turnal, Indiana Jones & The Great Circle, Cyberpunk 2077, ANY Snoy game on PC (I know, movie games), Respawn's Jedi games, Death Stranding, REmake games, and any game you enable (with the right settings listed in my pic) RTX HDR on. Enjoy your display, king.
>>730832621No, i agree OLED does better starfields lol

>>730834284>>730834338>>730828275And since I'm feeling generous here is the link to the MaxTml utility: https://github.com/ledoge/set_maxtml/releases/tag/v0.2Also an example batch script I use to set mine (I put it in task scheduler to run at logon everyday but it can be ran manually, and I put the utility and script in the same directory so I don't have to worry about specifying the path, the task just points to the batch. I did Trigger > At Logon and Actions > Start a program > full path to the batch file):@echo offtaskkill /im "NVIDIA Overlay.exe" /fpushd "C:\Fixes\MaxTml"set_maxtml.exe 1 1130exit /b %errorlevel%
I bought an oled monitor yesterday and I'm considering trying to return it. Looks pretty nice in game, but text is fucking awful. I feel like a combo of this is what people who need glasses see and watching a 3d movie without 3d glasses
>>730834582He's decent but not in my top 5. He likes to gloss over considerable negatives about certain panel types to avoid losing sponsorship. But if you're aware of his biases he's a good resource to have (he has a lot of them, just like MonitorsUnboxed/HardwareUnboxed).
>>730828275nine sols looks great on oled
>>730834338Jesus Christ… that is so gay. I can’t for one second think that is worth the time to do. HDR is such a gimmick.
>>730834668I had no idea he just helped me use HGiG on my C1
>>730828275>He boughted an OLEDLmao.I bought a laser projector. It's so fucking bright that I need to get a grey screen.
>>730834854Yeah? Maybe some of those lasers can reach in to your eyes
>>730828275why not just buy a crt
>>730834703It is easily worth it and takes like 5 minutes of your time to setup right. HDR gaming on OLEDs is unironically a bigger leap in enjoyment than gaming above 90FPS or 1080P (though I thiunk both are critical as I game at 138FPS in 4K).Otherwise just don't buy a fucking OLED. Windows 10/11 HDR gaming is perfect unless you're retarded then it is awful. I would also recommend using HDMI to connect your panel for power control and to avoid display stream compression if you're at 4K 120Hz and want 4:4:4 chroma subsampling since only just recently do monitors have displayport with enough bandwidth to support it (not that your GPU likely does) meanwhile HDMI 2.1 is on everything going back to 3000 series. >>730834852Oh he's perfect for shit like that. You were informed correctly if that's all it was for. I wouldn't make purchasing decisions based on his content is all I meant.
>>730828563Nothing. It's like how every company has forced their "AI" brand on the product. It's basically like a TV with Siri or Alexa, which was already a thing.
>>730828275
>>730832141Nta but that's literally every PS5/Series X game.
>>730828563>>730834983Local upscaling (fine for anime/movies/etc but useless for gaming, especially since you'll want to bypass that in PC mode anyway to avoid latency).LG's local upscaling is unironically really good. Just not for gaming. It also does shit like denoising, frame interpolation (making 24fps look smoother), can sharpen the edges of things, and increase contrast/highlights. But again not useful for gaming imo.
>>730835062Works for me
>>730834338>Applying fake HDR to non-HDR gamesFull fucking retard. You don't need to do any of that retarded shit.Just play them in SDR mode as they were designed. For everything else, check https://github.com/KoKlusz/HDR-Gaming-Database for any HDR related issues, and then simply use RenoDX to fix them: https://github.com/clshortfuse/renodx/wiki/Mods
>>730834660>He felled for the OLED meme
>>730835093>It also does shit like denoising, frame interpolation (making 24fps look smoother), can sharpen the edges of things, and increase contrast/highlights.All of that has been on non AI TVs for years. AI upscaling is different but a good 4k Blu-ray player can do that much better without AI because it has a dedicated processor. But of course this is normalfaggot era where they just want low bitrate compressed streaming slop.
>>730835181I did :(
>>730835148>Full fucking retard. You don't need to do any of that retarded shit.Wrong. RTX HDR has been essentially perfect (provided you have setup windows correctly and windows is recognizing peak brightness correctly) since driver version 572.47. There aren't many games where it looks worse, but they certainly do exist (maybe 1% of all games at most). It is objectively, measurably, a superior experience. Unless you're willing to dive in deep to the game with LUTs modification and RenoDX. Prior to v572.47 things weren't great and you needed NvTrueHDR to set it correctly. There are still some edge-case scenarios where you might want to use NvTrueHDR to tweak the profiler for a game (when Alan Wake and Resident Evil Remakes had native HDR issues, severe ones, you would need to tweak RTX HDR to get an acceptable picture, not really a thing anymore though with the proper settings from my picture).>Just play them in SDR mode as they were designed. You shouldn't buy an OLED if you're doing this. OLED's have brightness clamped in SDR. You're robbing yourself of peak highlights when you do that and capping content out at 250-ish nits. Never go full retard. If your OLED isn't in HDR full time in Windows you've wasted your money and under NO scenario should you use Windows' AutoHDR feature, it is abject trash. Nvidia's color mapping is superior. Enjoy being wrong, not taking your bait again.
>>730835531If you can return it then do it and get an LED lit monitor. At first the blacks won't look as nice and if it's a regular gamut screen it won't be as colorful as the oversaturation of wide gamut. But that's something you can just tweak in the monitor settings. I have a 1080p LED TV that has my custom visual settings and a big HDR/4k guy thought it was a 4k screen.
>>730828275>LGbt
>>730835680>miniLEDLMFAO. Cheap quality OLED monitors and TVs are going for as low as 345 dollars RIGHT NOW and you're telling anon to buy a more expensive display with infinitely inferior color accuracy, infinitely inferior contrast, infinitely inferior response time and infinitely blurrier picture? MiniLED is the weirdest fucking cope there is. It is a deadend technology because the process to produce the panels can't be fully automated. Any highlight will have a huge bloom around it as to get the density of the LED array high enough will drive the cost up well above the price of the literal best display on the market at a given screen size. They look like shit, they're more expensive, they run hotter, and manufacturers overdrive the display to help it sorta "compete" which induces burn-in (yes in LCDs). Check RTINGS long-term panel life study. They're multiple years in now and LCDs (especially MiniLED) tend to burn-in significantly sooner than modern OLED panels.
>>730835889Don't bother, he's been doing this for 10 years
>>730835889I didn't say miniLED, retard. I said LED.
>>730836192Sorry didn't realize I was replying a to a mentally disabled anon. Carry on. >>730836118I guess I don't come here often enough to run into this kind of weird cope.
>>730836118Based nooticer.Reminder you got memed If you felled for:4k for gamesOLED1440pCurvedUltrawideRTXDolby Vision/HDRAtmosAnything above 2.1/3.1 sound
>>730836250Leave before it's too late.
>>730835552Holy shit you're so full of yourself.Any actual expert will tell you the correct way to experience media is the way it was originally designed, in either SDR or HDR respectively.SDR content was never designed for HDR specular highlights and unless specifically stated otherwise is not the director's/designer's intent. And there is literally nothing easier than using RenoDX to fix native HDR issues, you literally just install reshade for the game and then drop in the addon file, and at most all you need to do is set your peak brightness in the renodx settings. If you are using RTX HDR overtop native HDR you are literally doing it wrong. And Windows will never look correct in HDR mode without constantly fucking around with color profiles, when the best way to do it is disable all color profiles/corrections, set color accuracy to reference mode in nvcp, and properly calibrate the display itself and leave it. Then you can activate HDR in Windows on demand depending on the program.I use AutoActions so I can "set it and forget it" per program.Calling anything that disagrees with your statements "bait" is pure faggot behavior.
>>730836729>SDR content was never designed for HDR specular highlights and unless specifically stated otherwise is not the director's/designer's intent. Why do stupid people hate this? You'll have so retard saying how badly you need HDR or Dolby Atmos and then you point out that something like Lawrence of Arabia wasn't shot for HDR and has a mono soundtrack and then they flip the fuck out.
