I'm on my franchise replay while I wait for Requiem, and I just reached RE7. It feels nostalgic which I didn't expect, but it makes sense I suppose, this is my first time playing it again since it first launched back in 2017.

Its alright. I did one playthrough and did Chris' DLC and that was enough for me.

Besides Demake 3, RE7 has to be one of the worst games in the franchise. It's a 6-8 hour piece of shit that starts strong but falls off HARD. The only thing saving its length is it's fucking DLC, which are all haphazardly made junk.

Pretty great showcase for the REngine, lovely crafted house and environment.They clearly start to run out of ideas by the barn section. then you get on theboat and it just becomes a generic action game.Biggest problem was the bosses getting more and more stupid each instance and the end game arenas just being ridiculous slugfests. Conclusion: The mine could have been much smaller. The barn didn't need to exist.The ship was OK. The wife being a bioterror agent was p. nice to justify the flashback, but the lack of enemy diversity really harms the game.I love that they are still using Audio system consoles and power module racks as stand in for lab equipment. They've been doing that shit since RE4 and it always makes me laugh.
I think it's one of the most overhyped games ever. Starts off pretty damn kino but then you're fighting mold monsters and end up on a ship and it goes from a 8/10 to 6/10 real quick.
honestly i was really dissapointed that RE8 went the b class action movie route that RE6 went. The franchise needs to desperately tone down the scale.
