Rerir and Tholindis don't deserve happiness. They both did literally everything wrong. They made everything worse. Every action they over took made the world a little worse off. In the end, they got what they deserved.

She was initially in denial which is completely understandable since it's like being told your dad was a serial killer, and by the time she was going to he was already realizing the gravity of his situation and how bad of a thing it was that he had already stopped the executions.Pretty much all the fault lies with Rerir, but having them both stuck in the eternal suffering land with no hope of ever seeing each other or disappearing is a bit much, especially when a considerable portion of what was going on with Rerir, particularly towards the end and all of Nod-Krai, was literally having the Abyss turning him into an Abyss Schizo and having them whisper in his ear about power and Tholindis increasing his paranoia.
