Astlibra ThreadJust got to chapter 8 but I feel like I've just been getting destroyed for the last 3 chapters and am doing something wrong. I'm still using the rapier from like chapter 3 because every other melee weapon feels way too slow and clunky. I'm level 38 and feel like I should be higher but I haven't' really purposely skipped anything. Any general tips? Game feels like it has become a slog and I'm taking way too long to kill things. The fight with the future army commander guy and his 2 robot helpers was painful because I didn't have many heals and there was no way to get any at the beginning of the chapter. Is there something I'm missing. I'm playing on hard which maybe was a mistake but it's generally what I do for most games. Just grabbed the pic off google even though I'm not there yet. It was one of the promo pics that got me interested in the game in the first place though.
pls respond
difficulty?

>>730833463>every other melee weapon feels way too slow and clunkyhave you not been putting any points into agility? that's the whole point of the stat. You want your total weight to be 40 or less at all times. >I didn't have many heals and there was no way to get any at the beginning of the chapter.you can go back to the town area at any time and visit the shop and use the scales lying nearby to revisit past areas
Chapter 8 is the biggest difficulty spike in the game, and the beginning is a huge pain in the ass. You absolutely will need a shield for almost this entire area, and save often. iirc, If you've been fairly diligent about getting all the karon skills you can, I think you should have the thing that gets you heals when you absorb attacks via spells, instead of just blocking? That helps a ton.
You are rewarded for grinding, when each chapter has 4 silver chest and 1 gold chest for gear and you get a weapon for having every other weapon. New gear give you Karon abilities, and while you're grinding the masteries out, you'll get Force to dump into your Grow tree to get magic, which scales better than physical if you are exploiting weaknesses. It's also a stat check game, since at this point you can unlock some things likeCh. 4 Nexagram = Energy Drain (healing during spell cast)Ch. 5 Shinobi's Attire = Cicada Shell (one nulled hit per map)Ch. 7 Dragon God's Shield = Full Burst (all MP on one spell)Ch. 8 Diabolos = Demon RageCh. 8 Armor of Darkness = Darknessthat make it easy. Stack the last 3 for the buff Possession spells like Berserk (physical attack), Sylpheed (attack/move speed), Turtle Shell (defense) and they'll last longer while upping your stats significantly.
Great timing just finished the DLC. Little dissapointed. Don't play this right after beating the game, give it a bit. It's just the last level over and over again. The combat is still fun though. Knowers know this game is amazing.
>>730833463>am doing something wrong.>didn't fucking grind weapons and armor for Karon skill and more gems
>>730833463>I'm still using the rapier from like chapter 3 because every other melee weapon feels way too slow and clunkyTry to keep weight below 80, adjust stats and skills if you need to.
>>730837651Adding onto this, that one Karon skill that heals you when you get hit during summon i-frames is GOAT.
>>730833463most of your points should go into agility so you can use big stuff
>>730838213its genuinely an immense upgrade to the core gameplay
>>730837996I'm mad that the DLC ending teased a co-op sequel that will never happen
I didn't use Berserk (plus didn't understand how chest and keys worked until very very late) on my first playthrough outside of a few fights so my build was mostly abusing the Possession spell that heals you.
>>730838928No berserk is much safer overall, unless you're so strong you blend the enemy to death before they get to do anything. Which is certainly a possibility in a lot of fights.
