Dogshit game for nonverbal autistic retard psychopaths
>>730845105All I ever hear about this game is how it supposedly trumps Minecraft, and yet it's visually much worse in every way. Whatever awful shader is being used makes it look like my screen's been slathered in Vaseline, the ambient occlusion is way too high, and everything's brown.
>>730845154and minecraft is the dogshit game for trans subhumans
>>730845303You thought that was gonna trigger me, huh?
>>730845105what else, havent cared for it in over a year. did they fix the atrocious world gen?
>>730845393Last update changed world gen so you don't have to spend half your time climbing around cliffs. I'm still waiting for proper rivers which supposedly they are working on currently.
That looks about as safe as Nvidia power connectors. Wasn't it supposed to be the assburger version of Minecraft with overly realistic mechanics?
>>730845364>You thoughtYou think so highly of me, thanks
>>730845489>currentlyDammit Carlos
>>730845489so its more sensible now? did they finally open an geology book for once?
let me know when they make it fun
>>730845105when is he updating combat?
>>730846261I don't even know what can be done, the combat fundamentally sucks ass. You can't even hunt large game properly. For a game all about realism you think they'd add hunting mechanics like The Long Dark or something.
>>730845105I really like this game but it turns out I'm an automation, factories and trains autist and not a survivalist flintknapping blacksmithing and charcoal pit digging autist which I didn't know until I bought it. It's nice to have an option on the other end of the scale for when I don't want to play gtnh anymore, and I was lucky enough to convince a few friends to pick it up though everyone dropped it quickly at the prospecting stage and I don't blame them
>>730846751I was lucky my friend group each found their own autistic thing to obsess over and we'd all just come together to make armor and food while surviving through multiple winters.
>>730846751>automation, factories and trainsIs there anything like factorio but for midwits like me? Satisfactory maybe?
>>730845105while i see the appeal of vintage story i really hate things like managing hunger and food spoilingits just a bit too much
Sneed
So this is the game that's been being shilled hard in both Minecraft and Hytale threads? It's even more barebones than the one that just came out lmao
>>730848249>It's even more barebones than the one that just came out lmaooh you haven't played either lmaoyou're a retard trying to bandwagon something you don't care about lmaowhy even do that? are you some kind of faggot lmao?
No SteamNo buyget fucked Tyrone
>>730846751>prospecting stage Tell me more anon,I still remember when Notch kept saying Minecraft was going to be hardcore like dwarf fortress lol
>>730845105jesus and I thought hytale was ugly. At least some of the games textures are appealing in there. This just looks visually too busy.
>>730847512>satisfactoryPlayed that one first because I thought id enjoy it more since it was 3D but I think the way satisfactory handles power early game is so fucking tedious. Factorio is a great go at your own pace game but also starts you put with easy to understand and difficult to master mechanics.
I find any game that refuses to come out on Steam to be pretentious and unlikable.
>>730848176Fucking ram hoarders, man.
>>730848448>automate>watch the game play itself for youwooooow
>>730846751It took me awhile to understand the prospecting stage, but after sort of understanding the methodology I found I didn't entirely dislike it. Yeah its busy work, but it forced me to go to places I don't usually go and while there I can forage and sling some rocks at some deer for a bit. Entirely fair though to bounce off of it.
>>730848594Not that anon but from what I remember, you'd have to take a prospecting pickaxe and begin searching areas slowly to maybe find a decent vein. It was kind of annoying
>>730846751Exact opposite for me, started with automation games but found I like hands-on autism more. VS might be my dream game.
>game still ugly as sin>still no mod that makes characters insultingly ugly to look atyeah nah
>>730845105this is what happens when a dev focuses more on decorations than gameplay
>>730848594You dig little holes in the dirt or exposed rock to get a probability readout of what *might be in that chunk, do a hot and cold journey from an initial reading, then drill into the richest chunk you can find. From there you probe tunnels with the ppick again to get a proximity reading. If you get a hit, triangulate to find where it is relative to you, mine your way there and then mine out the vein. You will have to do this several times and each one will take you hundreds if not thousands of blocks away.Spelunking sucks and is only worth it if you are right outside your base or in the rich chunk you were going to strip mine anyway.
>>730850271I actually find the aesthetic pretty damn nice coming from minecraft as my only other game in this genre. The only things that suck are the created character and the obnoxious musical instruments as voices. What was he thinking with that? Anyway, back to the aesthetic. Go into a wooded area when it's windy. It's sooo cool with how the leaves undulate and shit. If you think that new Fartnight looking voxel game is even remotely better, you have brain damage.
>Game introduces a village>Can't trade them for resources>Can't commission their smith for iron gear or buy the ore directlyFor a game autistically focused on realism, denying the player the ability to collaborate is retarded. If the devs don't want the player to use npcs to do all the work they could require the player do a bunch of menial bullshit to be accepted. Anything would be better than expecting one person to solo civilisation.
>>730850865You're really bad at alogging. How about mentioning the fact that oil lamps have an infinite timer? Or the fact that adding a lump of fat to a bowl instantly makes said lamp.
>>730850548the reason why it looks like shit is pretty simple, the textures are trying to be ultra realistic, and the models aren't, the different in quality is too jarring and thus ends up looking like trash, this is exactly the same issue I had with any texture packs on minecraft that were trying to do photorealism or anything above 32x32 even, it just looks like shit because it directly conflicts with the scale of the world, the scale of the blocks, everythingit'd probably look better if the game wasn't based around 1m3 voxels and instead shrunk them by 50% or something, but then they'd demark themselves too far from minecraft and they didn't want that (is what I'm guessing, but who knows) it's the same reasoning why you don't want round shapes in these games, no matter what, because it'll look out of place, it's a 'ruleset' thing
144.126.153.101:29400Come play on the 4chan server
>>730851006How about the fact that your inane counter examples don't matter while the difference between trading with villagers for what you need and having to go prospecting is dozens of hours of tedium.
>>730845105the game is better than minecraft but that's an extremely low bar.
>super detailed autistic everything>anything related to hostile NPCs is Minecraft but somehow worse
>no one give a shit about vintage graphics before>in fact, people often say it look better than modded minecraft>hytale come out>thread is full of “people” shitting on vintage graphicsHmmm
>>730852651>must be some conspiracy
>>730848594It's kind of insane how uncompromising it is. You want to find a specific resource? You better hope it spawned somewhere near you, or else you'll be searching meticulously for it. Also you'll actually need to learn ABOUT geology and on which particular layer it can occur, otherwise you'll be looking in all the wrong places.Prospecting pick helps with this somewhat but it will still take time. All that being said I wouldn't lessen it at all, because actually finding what you need is in the end rewarding both in effort and reward. Hell I'd make mining harder, by having to construct supports for all your mineshafts and setting up ways of moving the heavy ore out onto the surface.
>>730852910same energy as the tile fetish poster
>>730852924Cave-ins are already a game option but having to haul ore in a hand bag or something wouldn't work as you might as well eliminate the entire inventory system.
>>730853068I've had a few cave-ins but haven't had that many that having supports would be a requirement. And yes I'm not sure what exactly would make sense for hauling ore, a rudimentary cart on rails and maybe a pulley system for vertical transport? Obviously that might be getting too complicated, but I would like to see the mining be expanded.
>>730852924That actually does sound hardcore kinda like everquest was with raiding the classic dragons
>>730850271Get a mod for fantasy races then
>>730848176>perfectly square paddockssovlless
No steamNo buy
>>730845554It's only as realistic as far as someone else's implementation of realism goes. I wouldn't be surprised if it got TFC blue/red steel even though that's retarded, but since it was in a "realistic" mod that means it's also "realistic" for this pretentious game.
>>730850271Does he know?
I like the Faunling mod.
>>730853842He needs to pay Gaben for the DRM.
>>730845105where's a free download link
