Your boss in-game walks in and always does lolsorandumb shit like telling a story of how she lost her arm to a cyborg wrestler and speaking in all caps. All the girls are lesbians and there's a talking Shiba Inu named Nacho.

No, it is not well-written.

The game is pretty damn near 100% remembered for music and aesthetics. If you're looking for good writing you are better off looking doing almost anything other than playing a video game.

didnt the devs troon out or something?

It's alright. I think some characters are pretty hit-and-miss, and the actual drink mixing is just an extra bit of busy-work, but I kind of like the general theme where there are clearly much more important and dramatic things going on outside but your protagonist isn't really involved with any of it. You're just running the quiet bar giving people with more exciting lives a port in the storm for a little while.

I think the music and art design is more striking than the actual dialogue though.

I played it for a while and thought the writing seemed stiff, and sexualized in a way that came off forced and awkward. It's made by Venezuelans so I wonder why English was chosen for the language to begin with. I'm curious what the Japanese localization did to it.

It's neat. There's not a lot going on with it, it's very much just a "bartend and hear stories" kind of thing, very chill. The ending is a little abrupt as a result though.

Yes.

No, but it did succeed because of guerilla marketing here on /v/.

There's nothing ignoble about being a port in the storm and a light in the rough. Just the opposite, in fact.
Being gay isn't ok tho.

IIRC some stuff is locked behind figuring out the correct drink for the client but I could never figure out how you were supposed to deduce which one they wanted.

Of course when the game came out I was too young to drink at all lmao. I wonder if I could do better now.

You could also give them more alcohol than they asked for so they'd get drunk

There are a few interesting dialogue details that change if you get certain characters more drunk.

Though my favorite character's good ending was locked behind giving her an alcoholic drink when she asked for something non-alcoholic and I thought that was bullshit.

The writing is there enough for the incredible aesthetic direction to carry it. Some characters are likable - I doubt too many people dislike Dorothy or Donovan - but it's definitely the art and music that carry it.

The characters are. The game, on the other hand, is basically just your average slice-of-life about serving drinks. So yes, but also no.
The game is more of an experience than anything.

it's made by fellow 4channelers so by default it's well written and good.

proto-transcore game with painful writing. It reads like r9k, which probably inspired a lot of it.
The other Chilean game studio (ACE team) are actually talented.

But alas anon is a faggot.

I didn't enjoy it, I felt like the drink mixing was retard busywork because you just had to remember or open a list of drinks, as the majority of the gameplay it felt dull, but I guess it was more supposed to be a visual novel, unfortunately I didn't find the story that interesting either.

For exposure? What kind of dumb question is this? No one's gonna play a game in Spanish except poor latinxes.
