>>730849610It's not about practice or determination, it's about skill. Wandless magic is supposed to be an incredibly difficult thing that only incredibly talented wizards are able to do. Wands are supposed to be like conductors, able to channel a wizard's power into a single source they can control. Which is why pairing a wizard with an adequate wand is important otherwise you get Ron in CoS problems. And it is why in the books only the top, top level wizards are shown to be able to do wandless magic while still being in control.

Hogwarts doesn't even teach any wandless techniques besides apparition, which is reserved for 6th year students since it can be dangerous and lead to mutilation if used incorrectly.
