>Hello, I'm the African wizard from Wakanda Hogwarts.
>What's Wakanda Hogwarts you ask? Well, it's like regular Hogwarts but bigger and better.
>Oh and also we don't use wands there because wands are pointless and we're just naturally more in tune with magic.
They really can't help themselves, can they?

No wands was already better than wands, Dumbledore is shown to cast without a wand. The problem with her is she implies there's zero point to a wand beyond pageantry which ignores the obvious use for them being that they make it easier to focus your magic.

Seriously, who the FUCK who choose Natsai over Sebastian?

The funny thing is there's nothing inherently wrong with her character concept. "Here's a foreign exchange student from Africa as a fish out of water person to make friends with" is fine. But because they decided to make 80% of the NPCs in the school and countryside some flavour of black/brown she doesn't actually come off as unique or interesting or in any way out of place, so in the end she's just boring.

I'm pretty sure the lore already established that wands were a crutch because non-wand magic was too volatile. But in her case, she's adept at it because Africa has no fucking trees so the students don't really have a choice but to practice wandless magic and pray they don't blow themselves up.

The funniest thing about her is that her dad is dead due to african gang violence and that's why she and her mother are now at Hogwarts.

Wandless magic is an established thing in HP lore, Hogwarts students only can't do it because they aren't taught that way

You cant write a black story without the character having been touched by gang violence. Its impossible to have it be relatable if you do so.

>>
>>730849063
That's how it is for all wizards, they're still stuck in the middle ages and are completely mystified by the most basic of muggle concepts like electricity and a monetary system that isn't completely retarded because they rely on magic for everything

>>730847825
No, it isn't. Dumbledore, Grindelwald and Voldemort are able to cast no-wand magic because they're magical prodigies that are so far beyond everyone else. Wandless magic is supposed to be next to impossible to do. And even they use mostly wands because it fine-tunes you your spells

I'm not sure what you're taking issue with. If you've ever spoken to somebody from that region of the globe, they do tend to talk about their homeland with pride and reminiscence. You can disagree with it but it's true to how they speak. And the no wands thing is perfectly in line with the idea of African cultures being less technologically advanced but more in tune with nature.
>>
>>730849352
I think anyone sufficiently determined could learn wandless magic, it just isn't taught in european wizarding schools so it never comes up unless they go out of their way to learn it themselves, and since wizards are basically never seperated from their wands and come with their own benefits, not many bother with it in the first place
>>
Performative virtue signalling. They know it's bullshit, most of them know it's actually quite patronizing, but it does let them pretend they're doing culturally important work which makes them morally just and therefore important and good. Conveniently this also permits them to not actually do anything of any significance without having to deal with a pesky guilty conscience.
>>
>>730849610
It's specifically mentioned to be incredibly difficult.
not "learning to ride a unicycle" difficult where most people don't bother because there's more efficient ways to do things, but "only those with extreme innate talent can even bother attempting this, let alone becoming proficient" difficult
>>
>>730849482
wtf is this AI bullshit?
>>
>>730849602
It's not their problem. It's the muggles getting taken over and suffering genocide, not the magic users. They genuinely don't give a single shit.
>>
>>730849610
It's not about practice or determination, it's about skill. Wandless magic is supposed to be an incredibly difficult thing that only incredibly talented wizards are able to do. Wands are supposed to be like conductors, able to channel a wizard's power into a single source they can control. Which is why pairing a wizard with an adequate wand is important otherwise you get Ron in CoS problems. And it is why in the books only the top, top level wizards are shown to be able to do wandless magic while still being in control.
>>
>>730849352
>Wandless magic is supposed to be next to impossible to do
It's not anywhere near impossible, just difficult and can be rather dangerous to those not sufficiently trained to use it like the African wizards were. British wizards are used to having a conduit for their magic like wands as it just makes controlling their magic easier, and because they have been using wands for centuries, knowledge in how to use more than a handful of wandless magic spells have pretty much faded with time. Hogwarts doesn't even teach any wandless techniques besides apparition, which is reserved for 6th year students since it can be dangerous and lead to mutilation if used incorrectly.
>>
>>730849602
While Rowling didn't write this game and I like the books you gotta remember that these are stories where it you think too hard about them are full of inconsistencies and horrifying things
>History like ours... meaning the wizards did nothing to stop the Holocaust,Gulags,WW2,Rwanda genocide, Cambodia's killing fields,China practices that killed some more millions etc etc
>Teenagers can easily buy rape drugs and then alter memories
>Ministry of magic is always corrupted and unreliable (even when HP parents were teenagers) while also being able to know where kids below 18 always are and what they are doing.
>>
>>730848763
I'm not even sure why you feel it needs a justification. You seem to think it's some sort of transgression but I don't see it. I never got the impression that they were suggesting that Africans are somehow magical prodigies, rather they just have a different culture of magic. There are lods of third world countries you go to where people are absurdly skilled at doing certain things with their hands which people in the western world use tools for, because their culture is more primitive. They are also a culture in real life that is more predisposed to spirituality, superstition, witch craft etc so I don't find it surprising that magic is more widely practiced over there.

I can absolutely see that there is a certain tone with the character as a DEI inclusion but I'm not buying your outrage over these specific points, to me they did not come across the way you say they did at all.

wasnt there an entire plot point about the connection wands had with wizards?
there was also that elder wand which was supposed to be the most powerful. what was the point of that if apparently everyone can do magic without wands?

>>
>>730850124
Not everyone can. Only old gay men and little African girls.
>>
>>730850124
That's the point, not everyone can. Wands are basically like having a water hose vs being able to somehow accurately direct water out of the hydrant without it.

Just like driving manual would be incredibly difficult for your average American. Now imagine automatic cars were even more ubiquitous than they are now, with centuries of history and culture behind the practice. Would you look at Africa and say they're expert drivers because they still drive manual, or would you say they just haven't figured out automatic yet?
>>
>>730848190
To be fair that's consistent with Harry Pottery worldbuilding, there's like zero correlation between the normal human world conditions of a place and it's society vs what the wizards are up to

So Mexican wizards probably use Mesoamerican blood magic stuff and African wizards probably use something specific to their history

I mean, I would expect the average new teenage driver to perform better in Automatic-Car-Land than Manual-Car-Land. Less stalling, less rolling backwards down hills and other dangerous mistakes.
Or if a culture only painted with their hands instead of paintbrushes. I'm sure you can paint some very nice art with your fingers, but I would expect teenage Paintbrushopians to be better at fine details than teenage Fingerlandians.
>>
>>730850504
JK Rowling could barely handle the UK and Ireland and even then so much of wizard society is unexplored or left up to reader interpretation. Stuff like how magic creatures haven't pulled a Pokemon and displaced normal animals or why wizards dont make peace with muggles by like, offering the cure to cancer or HIV or something.
>>
>>730847204
Funny seeing this thread since I just started playing and thought the same fucking thing about this nigger. Christ, couldn't even be subtle about it. I love the atmosphere of the game but it's constantly being ruined since my albino witch is surrounded by niggers, jeets, and chinks every step. Doesn't this take place in the 1800s?
>>
>>730849602
You shouldn't try to make the Wizarding World make sense because you immediately run into so many issues.
>Wizards don't understand how Muggle technology works despite many of them literally living in their society.
>Platform 9 3/4 only works if everyone gets their memory wiped as soon as they see multiple families run into a wall and disappear in the middle of a crowded train station.
>School teaches children magic that can cause actual major harm to everyone and gives ten year olds the equivalent of a lit stick of dynamite they can throw at a moment's notice then punishes them for using said lit stick of dynamite.
>Children are taught how to make luck potions, love potions that remove the person who drinks it's autonomy, spells that petrify a person in their entirety for a significant amount of time, and spells that completely stop any locks from working.
>Children are taught how to use magic that lets them infinitely duplicate objects that aren't alive yet no one has done this to completely destroy the Muggle economy or make themselves rich.
>Somehow wizards believe the Unforgivables are on such a level of blasphemy that no one should know them yet in the same world guns exist and are 12+ Avada Kedavara's you can fire off with no training or knowledge of the spell in two seconds.
>Instead of fighting Voldemort head first why didn't they just have children with actual sniper rifles just shoot him in the head from a mile away while he was attacking the school and immediately win?
>If you do not get a job at the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts, or Hogsmeade you have no prospect in life as a wizard and will effectively become a magical farmer from then on.
>Why don't these magical outcasts who have no real attachment to the Wizarding World just use magic to actually live in the Muggle world? They can basically become rich overnight by just duplicating random things.
>How is it possible for anyone to be poor like Ron's family?
>>
>>730851149
>Doesn't this take place in the 1800s?
Yeah, but Wizards are shown to be a different society than the world at large, and they have bullshit like teleportation and stuff like that.
>>
>>730850429
>completely ignores the actual post to complain about americans for some reason
so what african country do you live in

>>730850748
I think the point is that wizard society is essentially completely geared towards hiding the existence of the magical world
IIRC Rowling mentioned at one point that wizards chose secrecy over attempts at coexistence because the nonmagical population became large and had enough technology to compensate for magic's advantages and make the Salem Witch Trials look like a fucking joke if tensions flared up.
Or you can take the most reasonable answer and say it's a book series for children and stop worrying about the fine details.
>>
>>730851226
Uh huh. Now explain why Dumbledore purged all the nigger and poojet students and made Hogwarts mostly white.
>>
>>730851226
