Why is House always such a miserable, depressing cunt? I mean, I know the meta reason (writers couldn't let him develop beyond his misery), but after they put him in a coma and treated his leg pain, he was genuinely happy and nothing went wrong until Cuddy and Wilson went behind his back to lie about a patient. This proved that he could be happy AND be a good doctor because he was right about what the patient had, but the rest of the series completely ignores the fact that he could have both, DID have both, and was okay with not being miserable all the time.

>>730847963It's a long series and the reason changes, but that episode was ass in particular because House offering a theory with no risk to the patient was being treated as him just getting diagnostics high and not real medicine just so they could revert to the status quo. In season 5 when the same thing happens and House is no longer in pain he claims it dulls his skills or makes him to nice to be the best doctor or some bullshit.
