Can you recommend some games like Max Payne or Kane & Lynch?
>>730847819Dead to Rights. Just the first one, ignore everything else.
Idk probably Max Payne or Kane and Lynch
>>730847819>Max PayneVanquish.
>>730848015Is Retribution not looked upon fondly in the "Dead to Rights Community"?I thought it was fun.
>>730847819John Woo's Stranglehold and Wet.
>>730848015The only thing I remember about that game was taking human shields and kicking them to the ground + executing them with a shotgun blast to the back when finished with them. That and killing guys with your dog
>>730848601>taking human shields and kicking them to the ground + executing them with a shotgun blast to the back when finished with themThat sounds fucking awesome.
>>730848601>>730848818It gets better. There's multiple different violent disarming moves Frank can do for each Weapon type. It's glorious.
>>730847819Playing one of the vampires with Celerity and using guns in VtMB kind of feels like Max Payne I guess.
I just made a kane and lynch thread and no one gave a shit. Its over bro
>>730847819Max Payne 2Kane & Lynch 2
>>730851953What's so great about this game?
>>730848523This
>>730852069it's extremely weird to find it good if you are over the age of 30. it was critically panned back when games journalism wasn't a complete* farce. it has an interesting sort of dirtbag seedy aesthetic.
would army of two count?
>>730852138That's not true. The first game was disliked because it was an inferior successor to Freedom Fighters with stiff controls and annoying characters.K&L2 still isn't as good as Freedom Fighters. But it's a competent TPS with a remarkable visual style and tone that is fucking rotten, rancid, disgusting, and evil. And it's awesome for it. It's one of the rawest looking games of all time. When you blow someones head off and it gets pixelated, wow, what an effect. Also, over the age of 30? It's a cult sequel to a game no one liked in the first place and it's 16 years old. Nobody under 30 has ever even heard of this shit. And who gives a fuck anyway?
>>730852138>>730853043I watched a YT video of it being played and it didn't look like a game worth actually playing. The visual style was interesting, but not nearly interesting enough to justify dedicating any significant length of time to playing a mediocre cover shooter.
>>730853243People are way more judgmental of games now then they were back then. A janky game with some fun mechanics and a cool premise/art style was enough. If the game was before your time, don't bother.
>>730851953you know what you have to do
>>730851953 Ride the thread out, brother. Kane & Lynch 2 was ahead of its time-grainy camcorder insanity, raw as hell, and absolutely drenched in nihilism. You made a thread for real ones, not for the faint of heart. Sometimes greatness ain’t appreciated till long after it’s gone.
