>recruit like 20 guys because early game army cap is super low>half of them die to looters>only like 2 of the survivors leveled up>get stopped by deserters on the way to the village>lose 5 more guys trying to escape>can't afford recruit to max>can't raid villages because they all have an army of fully equipped militia>wandering villagers have jack shit for lootHow do I get good at this game?
Play warband instead and use training grounds. If you absolutely insist on playing bannerlord use mercs, get rep with a village doing fetch quests, and then hire the noble line pre-trained.
I just play as a peaceful merchant
>>730851287>raid fisherman>steal their boats>sell their boats and loot for cash
>>730853750I don't have the DLC
>>730851287>half of them die to lootersnigga what?
THAT'S A NICE HEAD YOU HAVE ON YOUR SHOULDERS
>>730853840It was a lot of looters
>>730853897start small
>>7308512871) your guys shouldn't die so easily to looters if they're peasants2) you can unused gear by throwing it away on the map screen (I think it's how you do it) to level up your troops without fighting, it's not worth it to level up high tier units but very useful on peasants and other low tier units.
>>730853897>How do I get good at this gamewell next time you come across a lot of looters you think 'hmm thats too many looters for my army strength' and use the superior speed of your smaller army to avoid them to go pick on someone smaller
>>730851287Literally just win bets in the bar or win a tournament or few. It's maybe hard when you are brand new but you need to git that gud anyway so enter tournaments and keep reloading till you're talented enough to win them. Use the money from them or sell the expensive prize. You're in for BIGBUXX if a horse is the prize
>>730853967>you can unused gear by throwing it away on the map screen (I think it's how you do it) to level up your troops without fightingI have 1000 hours on the game and didn't even know you could do that
>>730851287I don't know if it is the same in Bannerlord, but if it works like Warband, smaller parties are faster than larger ones, so if you manage your party well you should be able to outrun enemies that you can't beat. It may not be a good idea to max your army; try to have a moderate number of guys and have them level up as you steadily recruit new guys, and mind your cargo which may slow you down.Look up the rules for army speeds for Bannerlord and what you can do to choose your battles.
>>730851287>he immediately treats the game as a combat/war game in the first 10-20 hoursngmi
>>730851287Not sure how you managed to lose that many guys fighting looters, unless there were like 50 of them, but one of the easiest strats early on is to get something like 20 archers, then ride around distracting the looters or whatever other low tier troops you're fighting. Put the remainder into infantry or something. As long as there aren't too many and they're not too strong or using shields, you should be able to distract them long enough for your archers to kill them with almost no losses. Another good strat, probably a better strat desu, is to maintain 50/50 Infantry(shields)/Archers. Put the infantry in a line in front of the archers, just below the line of sight so they can shoot at the enemy when they approach, loose formation for the infantry also works but then some of the archers will get killed if enemy has ranged so don't do that. You should also try to upgrade the infantry down a line that has some sort of projectile weapon (javelins, throwing axes, etc.) but I can't remember if every faction has one. It's almost impossible to lose with that strat, same as Warband, unless the enemy is 100% heavy cav and outnumber you. Oh and speaking of cav, keep a bunch of cheap horses similar to your army size in your inventory if you're using 100% infantry/archers, they'll speed you up... a lot. Mid to late game you'll probably be rich as fuck, so do whatever is fun then.
>>730852989what do you do with all that money?
>>730853967>you can unused gearyou can what ? what are you supposed to do ? you left out the most important word retard.
>>730854459>he doesn'tJust solo them. Easy with a stick and a horse.
>>730851287>Voting system is broken and lords all vote the same way 90% of the time >Personality Traits don't do anything>Relation with lords may as well not exist>Troops are horrendously balanced>No messenger system so you have to hunt every single person to the ends of the earth whenever you want to talkReally wish Taleworlds would fix their stupid game, it's so close to being amazing yet so broken
>>730854249>>730857108That poster is referring to a perk you have to unlock where discard gear gives your troops some XP. It's basically a nonfactor and gives very little XP, even after a gigantic clusterfuck of a battle with a bunch of loot.
>>730851287I always get filtered in both games by the fact that you will never be able to have as many troops as an NPC lord, let alone a king. It kills my mood after I get my first castle and then I do a new game.
>>730854459What are you supposed to do in tge first 10-20 hours?
>>730851287Just fight the first battles alone and save your dudes for later
>>730857917In warband that's true but in bannerlord you can easily get 400+ troops in your party endgame
>>730857890It's pretty great when every village only has peasants to recruit, you can instantly upgrade them all to T2 or T3 if you have some loot in your inventory.
>>730851287>> get a horse and a bow with extra ammo>> proceed to never die to looters again>> make bank winning tournaments until you get your first caravan>> you are now a 1 nan army with a considerable passive incomeAfter that just play with whatever playstyle you like. I usually just go 7 samurai style stomping deserters and looters with my 5 immortal companions until i get bored and raise an army.
>>730862013>not starting with a horse
>Archer volley>Retreat once the enemy gets within melee range>Rinse and repeatez 125 vs 800 victory
You can always go to the arena to level your guy to be better at combat for free at the arena with no punishment for death
>>730862490doesnt retreating from battle calculate some loses for you?
>>730862694Nope, you retreat in-battle. If you're out of comission you're fucked since you have to send your troops into ana utoloss instead, so don't get hit too much.
>>730857917>I always get filtered in both games by the fact that you will never be able to have as many troops as an NPC lord, let alone a king. It kills my mood after I get my first castle and then I do a new game. You absolutely can.
>>730851287>How do I get good at this game?Ride around for a while grinding tournament wins for renown until you get clan tier gains
>>730860167Not to mention you can also form a near-permanent army with your clan members' parties with like 600-800 troops and never spend any influence on that.
>>730857917If you build your character right, you can.
>>730857917The Leader of the Masses perk in Leadership solves this issue. In fact, that perk is so powerful that it's retarded to avoid it unless you're not trying to conquer the map.
>>730851287this game is the textbook example of an EA game that never gets finished and pushed to 1.0 as if it's done. Garbage ass turkish developers never respond to anything on forums - complete radio silence.
