You know "AI" (aka glorified chatbots) is in trouble when the venture capitalist money thought VR was a safer bet.
>>

>Reality Labs has 15,000 employees
>In comparison, Sony's Playstation division has 12,700 employees and Nintendo has 8,200.
What the FUCK do they all do??
>>
>>730855623
it's saying the opposite though
>>
>>730855623
At least normies actually know about and want to use AI. Nobody except giganerds ever even touched VR
>>
>>730855703
this. i can walk an retard to host an AI waifu in like 10 minutes with any laptop or phone. the barrier for entry to be excited about AI is very low.
how the fuck are you supposed to get people excited over VR when the hardware is insanely expensive?
>>
>>730855439
Holy shit, can the zuck please kill AI hype the way he did VR?
>>
>>730855439
>VR failed
>VR headsets still releasing, games still selling millions, Metas VR division still employs over ten thousand, etc
lol. OP trying hard for bait but facts are facts, VR is doing fine. Only poor people are avoiding and ignoring it

>simtard audience is smol
>lots of simtards hate it
>literally only has broader appeal to FPS players
>lots of FPS players hate it
>normals unlearned socializing after covid
what kind of crack do they smoke
>>
>>730855439
Fecesbook acquiring Oculus is precisely what killed the VR hype.
>>
>>730855439
And the Faceberger is one of the primary reasons for that failure. I'm glad the faceberger "metaverse" hellscape failed though.

>250 dollars is insanely expensive
>>
>>730855651
Literally nothing.
They exist so that the company can say
>Good news! After a good fiscal quarter we hired x000 employees to work on something for more growth
or
>Sad news! We had a bad fiscal quarter, but we can lay off x000 employees to maintain growth

They exist to inflate that number of hires and layoffs.

The quest 3S is kinda ass though.
And being affiliated with Meta is the biggest turn off imaginable.
>>
>>730855675
No, the pivot is purely because it's the newer thing. We'll be reading the same headline in 5 years. Except they'll be laying off their chatbot department to pivot towards the next biggest thing.
>>
>>730855439
He's always chasing the next trend.
>>

At this point the main thing preventing VR from pushing any sub-4K large form factor flat panels out the picture entirely is the reliance on phoneslop practices pushed by Meta, like Android and app stores.
With Meta's waning influence (their current lineup is mostly just riding out the last wave of Carmack's contributions in tard-wrangling) and Valve pushing for standalone that finally ditches all the phoneslop, I can see VR accelerating again.

>>730855439
Again? You telling slapping 2 screens on your face was a good idea?
>>
Normies don't like chunks of plastic on their faces, or first person sea sickness

Mario kart and candy crush are just fine. VRs market is autists, incels and perverts
>>
>>730855439
I loved htc vive back then
>>
I realize all these guys are really unlikeable people who should be lynched.
>>
>>730855439
Are you telling me that nobody wants to buy an overpriced microwave you have to strap to your head to experience migraine, vertigo and nausea?
