Imagine a game where your fighter guy starts out with say, 100 points in attack and by the endgame you end up with 200. And the sacrifice removes 50 points from a stat. Even in the best case scenario where your guy ends the final final boss with 0 stats across the board it's still around ~12 uses. The point is that you don't know what you're gonna fight next and it's possible that you can essentially kill your character by making him useless too early.
