You will NOT own a gaming PC.

You WILL lease one from the cloud.
>>
use catalog, nigger
>>
I already boughted buyded the 5080
>>
Thank you capitalism
>>
My 4080 and 64GB RAM is either going to last the next 10 years, even if I have to play at low with config tweaks. If I can't run the game, I'll refund it. I will not pay for fucking cloud gaming, and Jeffery can suck my fucking cock. Only way I'm upgrading again is if things become cheap again. I do plan on upgrading my case though.
>>
More companies will fill the niche, if it's profitable. And it will be profitable.

whole thing is gonna crash - right before a depression invest all your money in a supreme luxury tier service - that's smart

>My 4080 and 64GB RAM is either going to last the next 10 years, even if I have to play at low with config tweaks.
Or...?
>>
I remember things that happened to me when I was four years old thirty years later with quite a bit of clarity with no real issues, I'm clearly not "running out of memory" so what's NVIDIAs excuse?
>>
>>730866283
It takes years to obtain the machines that makes them, they are held behind a million patents and several years waiting list. The ability to make high-end chips is in the hands of the few. And it's staying that way this side of 2030.

>>
>>730866551
Are you implying that Nvidia needs to explore avenues into creating some kind of video game Mentat?
>>
>>730865862
Real reason is that they see that extra vram over the regular 5070 as a loss of potential profit, and are cutting the 5070ti to move that extra vram over to make more lucrative 5090's to sell to AI corpos.
>>
>>730866130
same
>>
>>730866560
CXMT has already successfully manufactured some DDR5 though. GPUs may be a different story, but really RAM is the primary issue here. Flash storage is also easier to make than GPU chips.
>>
>>730866827
>CXMT has already successfully manufactured some DDR5 though.
Consumer space has lost something like 80%, there's almost nothing on the shelves for companies to buy to make things. CXMT can fill around 15-20% at a push. They are also banned in the USA.

The 3090 was the last nvidia GPU worth buying.
Everything since has been almost zero upgrade in raw processing power, and selling fake frames with AI.
>>
>>730867104
Wrong, 4090 was significant upgrade in processing power over the 3090. 5090 is kind of meh and they fucked up the power delivery even more.
>>
>>730866521
Or I will refund the game.

Supply and demand, rich people can buy all the supply, you rent from them ;^). That's capitalism.

Bro these cards and the vidya you play with them wouldn't exist if not for cappytaywism
>>
>>730866130
Just wait until they force the update to make it fry itself and their support like offers you a year of geforce now in place of the warranty
>>
>>730866253
>>730866521
My 4080 super and 64gb is way too much, but at least 4080 seems to be the closest card to the 1080 in terms of stability and longevity.
And by too much I mean you won't be requiring the full potential of your ram or gpu for gaming in the next ten years anyway. Maybe your CPU can bottleneck you, but eh.
The 1080 held on for ten years and still ran new games at max. With newer games just being pure unfiltered turds and garbage, there isn't that much to play either.
You'll be fine
>>
>>730868417
That will end in a class action lawsuit.

man if it actually work im sure people will do cloud gaming
but the whole point is that it doesnt
too slow or games most people play

Is there a general ban on importing CXMT RAM or any device with it to US? Or is it only government entities which can't buy them?
>>
>>730868568
Not the case in the EU

I would be nice if NVIDIA and AMD leave the gaming market and take the AI and light tracing cancer with them so all that's left is custom-made 3D accelerators and devs are forced to dump incompetent DEI hires and pajeet slave labor and actually make proper video games again that would be niiiice I think
>>
>>730868648
For the moment it's federal but there are those pushing for full sanctions on CXMT. Even without sanctions they simply do not have the capacity to fix this mess anytime soon. It took them a year to increase production by 4%.

All the patents are expired. The only thing that keeps ASML from selling EUV to Chinks is the research/licensing agreement with the DoE/Federal Government and ITAR restrictions that went along with their acquisitions of SVG and Cymer later on.

Developers are not gonna be making games that require anything stronger than the current mid tier build that rivals the current gen console.
At the current ram prices chances are next gen consoles wont come out till prices stabilize.

Who the fuck heats their car all the time by running the engine? Just use the block heater, jesus. Germoid authorities are unironically right in this case.

>>730865862
Nope! I got a 5090 and once that becomes obsolete I'll most likely be done with gaming.

did google just mistime the Stadia? because theres massive shilling for cloudgaming now when Stadia was memed on for being a cloud gaming console
>>
>>730877398
Cloud gaming is still being memed on, billionaires trying to force it doesn't mean it's actually catching on. The Stadia would still fail if it launched today.
>>
>>730877398
This time it isn't about gaming at all, its just cloud compute. Big tech saw gaming as a way to get a foot in the door but now they are realising its the complete opposite. You have to kill gaming for cloud compute to be acceptable because gaming is the only thing it cant do and gamers are the only people who are vehemently against it.

Why do I have to recurringly pay for thins ad infinitum? Are they going to figure out a way to make me subscribe to my microwave to cook food?

Someday I feel like corporations will be able to pass laws saying you now need to subscribe to things you originally paid outright for.
