That Eden game infamously had to change how their system worked because Capcom got mad about the not-battle chips, thus the change to the indienslop fotm formula. Shanghai.exe I think got rekt by capcom lawyers, or the devs went schizo thinking they would eat a bullet sooner or later from capcom. JP copyright laws reach is absurd and the corpos love to abuse it to snuff out competition even beyond the island

Story based One Step From Eden could have been interesting, but for whatever reason they went for a pvp game that, as expected, died almost immediately.
