I wanted a very grindy JRPG with lots of Japanese-voiced companions, and I also wanted the game to have lots of unique weapons and armors scattered around the map for me to track down and loot in my quest to be a great anime Viking warrior dude.

Like 20 GB of plant textures you probably do not care about either. Or they give every NPC a unique name, so you cannot tell important ones from irrelevant ones. Or they remove your compass for immersion, which makes every quest a nightmare because most of them were designed with a compass in mind. And no you can't remove them because that will break everything else.
