>Sa-X>shows up for about 10 minutes worth of gameplay, only chases you in a prolonged sequence once>E.M.M.I.>has entire zones dedicated to it fucking your shit up>has different powers and abilities to throw you for a loop>gets progressively stronger and smarterYet fans piss and shit themselves over the Sa-Xx and view the E.M.M.I.'s as a walk in the park - why?
>>730879469The SA-X segments felt like they could happen anywhere and there were only a couple. Emmi are constrained to areas that all look the same no matter where they are on the map and there's too many which kills the excitement.
>>730879469Because EMMIs were cordoned off to their little retard chambers that you could exit and reset an infinite number of times to keep retrying the gameplay which was ultimately just "speedrun through the EMMI zone regardless of what the EMMI is actually doing".
>>730879469I'm currently playing Metroid Dread. Before that I played a few Metroid games I hadn't played in at least twelve years. Dread isn't very good in my opinion. It feels overlong, and upgrades feel out of order and random, missile upgrades are fewer (from 3 to 2) so it feels like you're not getting as much cool stuff (also no upgrade music jingle), EMMIs are really annoying because I just want to get through the area past them, they're more a nuisance than a gameplay obstacle.Overall I think Dread is the weakest of the series and I've played Prime 4, Prime 1, and ZM recently.
>>730879647>>730879770Basically these. Hard to get scared by EMMI when you're going into the dedicated EMMI play room. I wish it actually chased you randomly throughout the whole map. Maybe invert it so the Emmi rooms are some kind of safe area, but you're on your own until you leave.
>>730879469I will never replay Dread because of the EMMI rooms.

Two words: Audiovisual qualityEMMI's, and Metroid Dread as a whole, has a very weak soundtrack that doesn't really set any kind of mood and its ambiance tracks don't feel as immersiveMetroid Fusion meanwhile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D40RHPimrKkThe GBA is an ancient brick, but god damn it could output some chilling track most horror games would kill for.
