Bethesda really expects you to be excited for a game set in a land thats mostly barren, uninhabited, Saharan desert and wasteland then some cities on the coast.
>>
i like desert environments in my video games

Pure delusion.

I hope it's the fantasy version of this

Afganistan in V is a fucking piece of shit map. What did you enjoy about it? The barren lands with a few copy pasted small outposts with 5 guards every 500ft?
>>
>>730882692
Skyrim was mostly just one massive tundra in the center of the map, some taigas, and snow capped mountains. The only remotely interesting locations to me were the glacial coasts and that big underground area. The series in general is just real world biomes copypasted with the only two exceptions being Morrowind and The Shivering Isles.
>>
What fauna does Hammerfell even have? Camels, nile crocodiles, desert foxes? What about ruins? I know its going to suck based on Starfield and Fallout 4, but its going to be interesting to see what they can bullshit away in this instance. Especially when they got a bunch of cities on the coast and then Stros M'kai.

modders are able to make this interesting desert environments for free so bethesda should be able to as well, but we all know that they are too incompetent and retarded to do so
>>
why do you retards keep thinking that hammerfell is literally completely empty like sahara or something? its just a complete synthesis of northern africa and the middle east which has a huge diversity of biomes, flora and fauna. pic related is lebanon, for instance.
>>
>>730885214
Because we're explicitly told that Hammerfell's interior is largely sparsely populated desert and the overwhelming majority of the Redguards line in coastal cities
>>
>>730885297
Just like Cyrodiil being an impenetrable jungle
>>
>>730885297
>Hammerfell has a variety of environments, ranging from temperate to tropical climates. The coasts in particular are vibrant with plantlife, and biomes vary from open grassland, subtropical beaches, humid swamps around Tigonus, temperate woodland mountains around the Dragontails, forests around Hegathe,[10] and thick jungles such as the Bantha.[11] The Alik'r desert is found in the northwest, with the barren wastelands of Dak'fron found towards the southeast of the desert.
i still fail to see the issue with this. this is how morrowind was as well, where the coasts were more populated while the center of vvardenfell was mostly ashlands and red mountain territory. i obviously have no faith in bethesda, but thats besides the point.

This is reinforced by the map. Nothing is there at all, but you're a fool if you think Bethesda won't retcon and bullshit a bunch of bandit holds, ruins, Dwemer bullcrap or outposts. I mean logically by their own lore, Hammerfell would have less engaging content than Morrowind. I guarantee you its gonna be a Fallout 4/Starfield situation where its randomly generating nonsense across the desert and building settlements.

Do you think the success of stat based games recently will force Todd to reintroduce them in ES 6 or will they dumb down the gameplay even more? That’s all I care about.

>>
>>730886035
Bethesda is led by a bunch stubborn AND spiteful motherfuckers who actively enjoy giving the middle finger to all criticism and doubling down on whatever they're being criticized for, so no unless Microsoft or Zenimax forces them to
>>
>>730885006
Bethesda lack the talent or vision for anything good. They are the most milquetoast game devs imaginable.
>>
>>730882692
Before TES5, Skyrim was "a land thats mostly barren, uninhabited, Icelandic tundra and wasteland" yet that game managed to create a dozen biomes outside of 'generic snow'. Out of all the reasons to be fearful of TES6, this one's the most retarded.
>>
>>730886438
yeah i straight up think the thread is filled with anons incapable of imagining a 3d, colorful apple in their head.
>>
>>730885680
Yeah bro, can't wait for Hammerfell to become High Rock 4.0 after High Rock 3.0 (post-ESO Summerset Isles) and High Rock 2.0 (post-Oblivion Cyrodiil)
Really that's all TES should be from now on. One large temperate medieval woodland setting just like muh favorite D&D sloppa
>>
>>730882907
Unrelated, but what are the chances you are just straight up not allowed to play as a nord? Or at least, if you are, they'll forcefully say one of your parents was a redguard or something.

Do you really think a current year game would allow you to play as a blue eyed blonde as the Swordborn?
>>
>>730886035
Starfield was, mechanically, more of an RPG than Fallout 4, it's just that the other 90% of the game was worse than Daggerfall.
>>
>>730886145
Just seems strange. Like seeing butterflies near volcanos.
>>
Hammerfell is Arabian Samurai Nights: Pirate Edition.
If they can't make that interesting then they deserve to be put in prison. It's going to be Highrock anyways because Bethesda is allergic to creativity and ambition.
>>
>>730886438
>a land thats mostly barren, uninhabited, Icelandic tundra and wasteland
Thats what it is right now ingame. Nothings changed its still Nords barely scraping by in subzero temperatures in crappy holds with mudhuts. Not to mention many of its strongest cities border either High Rock, Cyrodiil or Hammerfell.

All modern games are written by committee and quintuple checked by HR women type people. I can assure you they'll not allow it, otherwise you'll have a situation where most people end up playing as a nord or imperial when given the chance.

Hammerfell isn't just the Alik'r Desert which takes up the northwestern portion of the province but a variety of biomes. You have jungles, grasslands, marshes, forests and mountains which if Bethesda is smart they'd spice these up with flora/terrain you wouldn't see on earth but I heavily doubt they will.
>>
>>730886745
>Thats what it is right now
Is it? Because Whiterun's plains are different from the foresty high altitude area near Solitude which is different from the denser foresty low altitude area near Falkreath which is different from the near-autumn warmer colors of Riften which is different from Morthal's swamps which is different from the hot sprints between Riften and Windhelm which is different from the actual "oh shit we freezing our balls off" sections in Windhelm, Winterhold, Throat of the World etc.

There's more variation in Skyrim's biomes than in Oblivion's. Hammerfell could 100% have just as much variation between habitable beaches, actual desert, swampy forests, jungles near the Dragontail Mountaints, etc.

And thankfully it wasn’t. The whole "the empire was actually just a bunch of white Indios making money by farming rice and living in a jungle" was retarded af to begin with since neither Daggerfall nor Morrowind showed Imperials like that
>>
>>730887382
Skyrim is like a themepark, everything you listed is one small area where over 3/4 of the game is just snow, mountain, tundra and ice. This has been a complaint about it for over 15 years now, you don't gotta shill so hard.

>>
>>730887573
Lorelet retard, The Imperials you see in Morrowind were colovians not Nibenese and Imperials literally did not exist as their own separate culture/race in Daggerfall since in pre-redguard lore Cyrodiil was literally an empty grassland with only the Imperial city in the middle whose purpose in existence was being a battleground for the races that exist then to fight on
>>
>>730887754
Idk seems your problem is that there's no alien biomes like Morrowind rather then a lack of variety. I agree that having none typical earth biomes is far more interesting but it doesn't change the fact that Skyrim has decent variation while making it stay reasonable for the climate ie no jungles.
>>
>>730887615
>everything you listed is one small area
Anon pls

>>730887754
They're all far more sparse. You have swampy Leyawiin, sandy Anvil, Skingrad has red trees and Bruma has snow. That's it.

>ALL of cyrodiil should be a heckin jungle based on a rice growing economy because Kirkbride said so in a random post
>ummm akshually NOT ALL imperials are based on the Romans and European architecture you see in Morrowind
Get a grip. What we’ve got in Oblivion was way more accurate and fun than a bunch of tropical palm trees and jungles. Not even Brazilians live in jungles and destroy said jungles because they’re inhabitable.
>>
>>730890207
>>ALL of cyrodiil should be a heckin jungle
Not even the document that information comes from ever says that the entirety of it is jungle you dumb nigger
>because Kirkbride said so in a random post
The "random post" is the Pocket Guide to the Empire, literally the founding document of modern TES lore from which i guarantee nearly everything you like about each race and province's lore ultimately comes from
>>ummm akshually NOT ALL imperials are based on the Romans and European architecture you see in Morrowind
Yes, they literally say that in the old lore, and those same Morrowind Imperials you're fixated on describe Cyrodiil as mostly a jungle when you ask them about it, which you would know if you actually played the game. also how the fuck does Roman architecture suddenly make the place not a jungle?

I.E, kill yourself secondary

Same pocket guide saying the jungle was razed? Again it doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t matter because what Todd says is lore + just go to the southeastern part of Cyrodiil if you want to see a jungle.
>>730890785
Funny how this only gets mentioned here because Kirkbride said so in a post about Todd. End of the day if you want a jungle, just install a mod even if it looks off

It doesn't nigger, it says that Cyrodiil IS mostly endless jungle, in the present tense, as do the NPCs in Morrowind

>>730891549
