Not really a game and more like a really good tech demo made for benchmarking
>>
>>730884856
congratulations you are the 12,843rd person to make this observation
>>
>>730884856
damn tech demos are really crazy nowadays
>>
>>730884856
>a really good tech demo
What's really good tech about it? All the tech is outdone by other games.
>>
except when most gamers benchmark this game on ultra they burst into tears when its running at 12 FPS
>>
There's nothing impressive about this game.

>Make open world game, a genre where 90% of players deliberately ignore the main story
>Make it so they can't ignore the main story and put no procedural in on purpose even though its statistically what they engage with most
Its like they just didn't even want it to be successful to be honest.
>>
>>730884980
What game has better path tracing?
>>
>>730885118
They fell for the meme when every game had to be open world. If they made it semi-linear like TW3 they would have made it on time and it would have been fine.
>>
>>730885267
RDR2 looks and runs better from top to bottom.
>>
>>730885547
That didn't answer the question
>>
Too bad everything looks like hot plastic.
>>
>>730884980

blatantly false. Night city in 4k@120hz on a 4090 or 5090 is the best looking video game that exists. Also the tech demo part is driving jackie's bike first person through night city. The rest of the game is mid.
>>
strange that this tech demo has over 100h of content

Gonna be honest.
Didn't bother downloading it on launch because of the shit it caught (and rightfully so.)
Got it on sale this week with that phantom DLC.

Was fucking NOT expecting the character creator lmao.
Other than that, it's actually a fucking delight to just get lost in. I like it.
>>
>>730885118
>main story and side missions where the best part of the game when everything else was dogwater, it should've been semi open world ffs. Night city should've felt massive not the size of Sacramento.
>>
Most impressive tech demo I've ever played.
>>
>>730886917
The best looking game that exists is still RDR2. Soon to be GTAVI. You're cheap Polish slop is nothing. CDPR even abandoned the engine for future games.
>>
>>730888437
What future games? The Witcher 4? Why would you use RED Engine for a Witcher game?
>>
>>730885547
Not true because my brother struggled to run RDR2 with his 4060 but had no problem at all, none, running Cyberpunk.
Maybe looks better, I dunno. But Cyberpunk runs like a charm as long as you have an RTX. If they successfully ported it to the Switch it probably means something.
>>
>>730889007
In house engines make for more unique games, Unreal games all look the same.
>>
>>730884856
it's really sad. they made the city, nailed the atmosphere, but everything else is mediocre at best. style over substance
>>
>>730889316
Mhmmm I've learned a bit of stuff looking into which games run on what, now.
Look is just one part of the game, how it feels though... UE5 is a good engine. Runs like shit most of the time but it's eventually up to the devs to know what the fuck they do with it. E33 was made on UE5, as is Fortnite, so you have 2 sides of a multifaceted coin there.
I trust CD Projekt.
>>730889834
What substance were you looking for? You must have crushed expectations but I'm curious as to what they were. Because I often read this opinion in the Cyberpunk threads but I don't understand what you mean.
I started the game totally clueless and it blew me the fuck away. To me it's a masterpiece.
>>
How is it not a game?
The gameplay is leagues ahead of anything game Bethesda or Rockstar ever released

And they both have to same vaseline-shine and playdough models, ie. They look the same.

>I don't want to engage with the story, I want to play GTA!!!!!
>>
>>730885118
>Plays an role playing game.
>Complains about having to follow a story and play a role instead of doing mindless activities
Just stick with nintendo games buddy.
>>
>>730890237
>What substance were you looking for?
I guess some mix between elements from baldurs gate, mount & blade (minus own raiding party) and stalker. at least a proper RPG
>inb4 you expectations were unrealistic
they promised even more. actually they delivered almost everything they promised, but in the most lazy "we technically did what we promised" way. in the end it's just as bad as not delivered at all
>>
>>730891525
I wouldn't say unrealistic but confusing. I don't know what these games have in common besides their RPG elements, which boil down to making a build and having multiple ways to skin the cat...
I see the elements of BG, M&B and Stalker, so I don't even know what disappointed you.
-Baldur's Gate: multiple pathways to a mission, multiple builds and classes to choose from, multiple playstyles, and the story actually changes depending on your choices.
-Mount&Blade: Huge open-world, huge everything, customisable V ad infinitum, peasants everywhere, increase your rep, increase your power.
-Stalker: huge open-world, Slavs everywhere, drink vodka, eat bug meat sausages, find artifacts (legendary weapons), grimdark world...
So I dunno man, sounds like they did make the game. The game is a fucking spectacle, they did more than just provide raw gameplay, the story is driving me insane personally.
>>
>>730892153
I know what I played and it was soulless
>>
>>730885118
Yeah this shits me about CP2077 as well.
You'd think for all the effort they went to, to make a big open world GTA-clone that they'd add more random shit to do.
There's only really the main quest, 2-3 side quests and 10 gigs per area to do and thats quite literally it.
>>
What bothers me the most, besides it being unfinished, is that the modding tools apparently can't fix it on the same level as a Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
>>
>>730895410
yeah, a friend of mine has been trying to add custom animations for awhile now. No luck. The tools are limited and require some pretty extensive knowledge of the engine. Guarantee Orion will have more mods, everyone knows how to use Unreal.

>>

>game would be better if it was ubislop!!!
>>
>>730895410
Because they didn't release the RedKit for it and the tools they released back in 2023 are pretty limited in scope.
They released Witcher 3 in 2015 and ONLY released the RedKit for it like 1 or 2 years ago.
>>
>>730895410
Story wise some shit i'd fix ideally
>We never got the planned 2nd expansion because they had to unfuck the old console faggotry version. We were going to have a post-main-game expansion
>Phantom Liberty being a shitty side story, but if it was it should have at LEAST affected mainline ending paths, expanded or changed them
>PL "Tower" ending with Panem never should have happened. It would have been so much better with just a few changes and I'm tempted to try to mod to fix it.
>PL should have had 2 more ending paths, each with multiple endings including a 'secret' one. There should have been at very least the Songbird / Blue Eyes /. Blackwall branch, and the NUSA's JC Denton branch
>No new romances in PL at all. No Songbird, no fling with the french redhead, not even turning Meredith into a proper partner despite all the Militech/NUSA shit being a perfect opportunity.
>No "corpo" waifu option, either aforementioned Meredith or preferably Hanako Arasaka, which alone could open a lot of mainline ending options and content romance or just friendship/ally/respect.
>Post-Edgerunners content including a chance to recover David's engrams (its already canon that Arasaka told everyone to basically preserve as much of the guy as possible because of his ability to chrome up to an insane degree, so make it so that Smasher was basically using a 'wireless soulkiller" attuned to the loudest tech at the moment that wasn't him, Davido wearing the fucking mech suit), and make up that Rebecca got scooped up in the process. V can turn them over to varying vested interests as they wish, including Lucy
So much fucking potential, to say nothing for expansion stuff and trips to the space station, moon, Mr Blue Eyes/Nightcorp hangout etc.

>>730897057
I don't get why they havn't provided them NOW at least. Its obvious some people are trying to do big things and the tools are just so shitty for non-cosmetic bits.
>>
The world itself is really pretty. The japanese animators did say how much easier having the city explorable made their work be since they could just screenshot areas they liked and then do a light paint over and boom, background done.
>>
>everyone says how great the game is
>never even made it past the tutorial it's so boring
