I've lost the ability to play naively and now need to execute a grand plan. I started on a city with farming as the only industry and, between having to making farms historical tile by tile and hitting the point of needing to work out optimal service coverage, just kinda shifted off to other games.Had similar happen with Banished. I worked out a development plan for a miniature map to max it out with around 300 pop (including a bunch of fishing for a suitable seed). Then the micromanagement of bad citizen assignments and long walks to get new centers started plus a lot of just fucking waiting put me off before a seed or livestock trader ever showed up.
