>Tons of movies get vidyas adaptations
>Almost no book get vidyas adaptations (Harry Potter and LOTR being essentially the only one)

It's 2006+20 and we still don't have any Dying Earth games. Only Morrowind comes close to letting you break the world with magick.

Dying Earth is so god damn good, if you haven't read the tribute book, Songs of the Dying Earth, you should

Dying Earth, Zothique and Lankhmar are a gold mine of cool ideas. Too bad game devs are stuck reading Lovecraft, LotR and Harry Potter instead of sword and sorcery. The entire concept of RPGs came from these sword and sorcery books, but nobody dared to try something new past Morrowind.

>Lankhmar
New to me, looks excellent. Thanks.
>>

Lankhmar is sort of more kitchen sink like Pathfinder's Golarion, but more horny even than Witcher or Elric. The dude who narrates BotNS novels narrates Lankhmar novels. Highly recommended. The prose is almost as good as Dying Earth without being artsy like Zothique or reddit like Discworld.

Bro, your Parasite Eve?

Do an Imajica game. Or a Hyperion action adventure RPG.

>Metro 2033
>Stalker
>Bioshock 1
>Assassin’s Creed 1
>Spec Ops: The Line
>Expedition 33

All of these games are either direct or loose adaptations of pre-existing novels.

That's fan fiction and not an adaptation.
>>
>>730892748
whatever, it's based on a book
>>
>>730892818
Well imagine if some game studio decided to make a LotR sequel where Elrond tries to become a better father and father in law, Hotel Transylvania style. That's the Witcher game series.
>>
>>730893418
so what you're saying is the witcher game is based on a book
>>

Unofficial sequel.

they should make a black company game in the style of dragon commander

This game's not bad for a shameless GoW ripoff. Or maybe I'm just so battered by Sonic Unleashed that this seems playable by comparison.

Some of the Discworld books have game adaptations
