>>730893252the most charitable take of DmC purely as a video game is that the definitive edition is dmc4 but with less stuff, the worst guns in the entire franchise, the same amount of bosses but those bosses are horrible, and enemies that don't really fight back. you can do all the jump cancel into the sky and weapon swaping stuff that makes dmc fun to play so it's objectively better then dmc2, but theres nothing unique to justify playing it over just replaying the other proper dmc games which is what they're designed for anyway. also on release the game ran at 30 fps and had a bunch of gameplay flaws, so between that, ninja theory being a bunch of cunts and dmc4 obviously being unfinished people were really sore on a game that's like a 7/10 at worst
