Finally, the real Ninja Gaiden

I just played through the entire classic era and save stated the shit out of it. Fuck every single one of those games. That being said. NG2 is the best. Fucking phenomenal music and cutscenes. Story was really fun too. NG Shadow was also great. Ninja Gaiden 3 can suck my fat fucking dick. That game was a disappointment all around. The Master System game was also poopy.

Shout out to the Arcade game. It was neat.

I'm only using save states to save progress in the way you'd leave a console on overnight. I died to the first stage of the last boss twice now.
Did you play the US version of 3? I have the jp version downloaded because it's more fair, I hear it's the easiest of the trilogy

NG3 rules. It is different from the other two, though.

I played a patched US version that was advertised to be like the JP version, but it turns out that it wasn't 1:1. Honestly the main thing the patch was missing was that deaths take you back to the start of a level as opposed to the JP version letting you continue from the room you were at. That alone makes a big difference

You can't really have a valuable opinion on a game you can't beat. Like those points of resistence are intentional and you can't really grasp if they're good or not if you just bulldoze through everything with save states. Like to just go
>well I TOTALLY vibed with the music
Is just asinine.

The limited continues seem pretty bullshit. despite the reputation, NG1 is very fair with the checkpoints and infinite continues. Act 6 kind of changes the rules but I think I was healed to full for the boss fight so it's whatever

also this

I really need to go back and complete this. I got all the way to the final boss and never beat it.

NG1 really only begins at Stage 6. Majority of one's playtime will just be grinding that final level to perfection. NG3 is more of a tough but fair challenge even with the limited continues.

I'm not trying to have a valuable opinion. It's just my opinion and that's it. I enjoyed NG2 the most. It felt like an all around huge step up from NG1. NG3's gameplay felt slightly better than 2, but story, music, and levels felt like a huge downgrade from NG2.

I don't play these games to feel superior or act like an authority on the series. I'm well aware I wouldn't be able to beat it without save states. That doesn't mean I'm not allowed an opinion or I should be barred from discussions. I originally wanted to play the 3D era of games, but I also wanted to appreciate the franchise as much as possible by playing everything that came before it. When I inevitably watch other people play the classic era of games, whether Let's Plays or Speedruns, I'll at least have some sort of context to how hard the games really are

I like the 3D games but I vastly prefer the NES trilogy.

Keep it to yourself then
