It's just a 3D puzzle platformer. The fun was partnering up with randos to finish it together. It's not even that long is it? I forget I wanna say its like two or three hours.
>>
anytime I see a post like this it just makes me sad that people don't see art the same way I do. Jonathan Blow was right.

Just say everything is either about gnosticism, capitalism, or mental illness and normalfags will think you're smart.

Game was great.
played it because of the green text about the guy who thought he was playing with his dead father
>>
Is it worth playing at this point?
Steam says it has ~50 players, will you meet people in the world as all those videos about the game say?
Is meeting randoms even something to look forward to or important?
>>
>>730906997
The Journey was the friends you made along the way.
>>

I've only played it around release where unless you were offline you were guaranteed to run into another player. So I dunno, it's probably fine solo. I thought the buddy system made it better though, but I like coop.
>>

if there's only 50 players then probably not. you might get lucky and run into someone but the entire point and appeal of the game is playing with randoms.

It's a metaphor for personal life and death, as well as the life, death, and rebirth of nature and civilization. The levels move from newborn exploration to youthful play to challenging adulthood to the shivering grind of old age, culminating in death. The civilization whose ruins the pilgrim walks through is shown to have grown from honest roots through the discovery of the light magic in the cloth to warring over it and destroying itself.
The light magic represents all forms of energy and life, the cloth creatures being obvious sea-life parallels. Its conductivity is intended to evoke themes of unification and sharing - only in contact do cloth creatures endlessly rejuvenate magic.
The finale is the merging of these three points: the pilgrim is "reborn" through grace, unable to complete their mission without help from a higher power, but this rebirth is in fact the final journey toward the bright light and into the ever-after, while all around them their sacrifice has brought new life into the world, creatures thrive and magic pours like waterfalls. Finally, a star emerges from the mountain, traveling back to the start where the cycle of the game will begin again.

I don't know. When it came out it was quite fun, but a year later finding other players was pretty difficult. Nowadays it must be almost impossible.

Helping people on a journey is fun.
The Pathless is easily their best game.
>>
I enjoyed this "Let's Play" of 16 minutes. Before his run at Giant Bomb, where his father just shows him that this is dumb and he just wants to go out drinking.

Fun gameplay about shooting archery and falconry culture of mongolia, with a mongolian throat singing soundtrack. The game has these talisman things floating around the world and when you shoot one with an arrow you get a speedboost dash so the gameplay is stringing those together to go fast af boi.
Beautiful open world that is connected to Journey and ABZU, amazing boss fights, and barely any narrative so its pure vibes. You have a pet falcon that you can fly around with and pet.
There's a trophy for running with animals like you are doing a counting coup. The game is pure unfiltered soul.

Some sort of fuckery happened behind the sceens with the studio they had to remove all the links to the other games in an update, don't know what happened there.

I let my friend play it in high school and he cried at the end and also as much as I love him he is maybe 2 IQ points above the threshold of being considered mentally retarded.

I always interpreted it to be more about the experience itself, rather than what's present. The quiet sanctity of going through an experience with somebody you've never talked to and probably will never talk to. It's something that non-video games can't ever provide.

It did it in the most natural way too. Games like Nier have to emotionally manipulate you to get you to do something semi-selfless while this game just puts people together and they naturally help each other.

"Oh look; it's a giant bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's syrup!"
"What are those things? Ticket stubs? AMC theater ticket stubs?"
"My scarf got longer? Now I just look like a damned Hershey's KISS!"
