Gave the game another shot and still just don't like it. There's just nothing to do. It really is insane how every other Animal Crossing game completely shits on it. Gathering materials and crafting is still tedious and annoying, villagers are still soulless, it feels like there's very few furniture items because they drip feed them to you and what they do have is a lot more generic now, there's not nearly as many events as the other games, I could go on. They clearly realize there's a problem with the game, I don't think they would have done this many updates to add stuff to it if they thought it was good enough, but I don't think they understand what the problem is. I don't give a shit about the things they're adding, the paid DLC was just Happy Home Designer, and the big main feature of the 3.0 update seems to be the exact same thing and seems entirely redundant? Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it looks to me. I don't care about designing temporary homes, I want to design my own home and do things that matter to my own village. I hope they just go back to basics for the next game but my guess is it's not happening any time soon since the game got a Switch 2 upgrade, might not even get a new game for the entire generation. Just disappointing.
